Is this the man who is responsible for the best PRS color Eriza Verde?

Lmao that’s funny you say that. I didn’t buy the 24-08 cause I didn’t like any of the colors. Especially the green.

First impressions, you take the health of your staff seriously. The level of PPE here compared to a similar Gibson video is night and day. Pleased to see this. Please keep these videos coming. Been really enjoying the series and gives a much more personal touch to the company.

Better than Gibson for sure but still way behind Fender or any car paint room!
@davidbetts11802 жыл бұрын
@@fearnpol4938 agreed there. It would be nice to see PRS invest a bit more to the level of Fender. I'm shocked at Gibson. In the American culture of everyone threatening to sue each other (saying that as an outsider) I found it odd they left themselves open like that. I would like to see these kind of videos at the factories in the far East to see the difference.

I have a '98 McCarty in McCarty Sunburst with a one-piece top. Got it brand new in 2002 as a "loss-leader" in a clearance sale. Never changed a thing on it other than strings and installed Schaller straplocks. What a guitar! (I'll have to check, pretty sure it's a contour burst. Didn't know there were 2 different 'bursts until this video.)

Much prefer the 'contour' burst to the 'teardrop' style myself, but each to their own...

On a double-cut, for sure. I prefer the teardrop on the single-cut though, it looks more traditional and somehow more luxurious.

Especially on Singlecut. I'm not a big fan of the teardrop burst
@BAMozzy692 жыл бұрын
@@mr.nobody68 Not everyone - I always thought the teardrop was a 'mistake' where the sprayer was covering up something - like the 'evenness' of the burst edge - too thick and the lower horn gets lost and trying to even that out resulted in covering the top 'horn'. It never looked right to me - particularly with a 'strong' contrast burst (like Cherry Charcoal burst for example). But as I said before, each to their own. Some may well prefer a 'heavier' burst, particularly on a LP Singlecut style, but the 'bursts' I always prefered, before PRS started doing 'bursts', were always the more 'contoured' style that kept an 'even' thickness around the whole shape of the guitar.
@ericks.99362 жыл бұрын
I felt the same with my Gibsons. Even more with a contoured PRS.

I have trolled every online and local guitar dealer for PRS for years, looking for the 'perfect' next guitar for me. Paul's Boyd Burst finally got me off the dime. Got my Boyd Burst Tremonti from Watchtower Guitars last summer. LOVE the guitar, and it always gets a ton of attention when I bring it out. Does Paul paint all of the Boyd Bursts? Could you pass along how grateful I am for his work? Matt's colors are stunning and I bet my next guitar will be one of his color creations. Thanks again.

At one point, the guy spraying the guitar grabs the hook after doing the sides, back, and neck, and his sleeve appears to touch the wet lacquer. Does it just flash off incredibly fast, or did I miss an edit?

Yes. And his first name is Matteo; hence "Blue Matteo." PRS encourages the finish team to come up with new colors; when they do--and they're used on production guitars--they get named after the finisher that came up with the color scheme. How cool is that?

One of my favorites... I just wish they didn't do the backs in red, which turns it into a hot dog stand, ketchup and mustard look. Over time the backs seem to have become even more red. So I admire McCarty burst tops, but buy guitars in other colors to avoid the Ronald McDonald color scheme.

I own 594 Wood Library Ten top McCarty Burst quilted top. There is no burst. I think it's contour burst gone wrong. Middle is to dark. Pity this top would be even bigger killer if it was bit lighter in the middle.

Just curious........wouldn't a mechanized(i.g. robotics) painter do a higher quality/better job considering these high end, high quality guitars??
@thedevilinthecircuit14142 жыл бұрын
Robots are used for the clear base coat. However, for subtle color gradations in bursts and fades you need human hands and human eyes on the wood because it is not a consistent material. If these were not made of wood, robots would work.
