Just a quick video of how we take scrapes on the Koi. I wasn't really sure about this video because the glare was crazy, I couldn't see the screen properly at all.

Brilliant video, really clear guide on doing a scrape . Wish this had been out a couple of years ago, I'm starting to get the hang of doing scrapes now but definitely one of the most daunting tasks for a new koi keepers. Thanks 👍

Another Great Video Tim, thanks for showing the scrape procedure very helpfull and the flowrate tip your right mine was running to slow for a long time couldnt get any stability, changed my filters to get more water through and it settled down loads and stayed that way with regular water changes :) takecare keep them coming

Thanks for video . Great tip on flow rate . It's something I hadn't thought of . Luckily I just bought a variable pump , for the electricity cost saving - uses a third of the power of my old eco pump , and now I can experiment with the flow 👍

Brill vid mate. Iv had koi for two years and finally bought a microscope so that i don't have to guess anymore when i see odd behaviour. Found flukes on my first scrape for £90 wish id bought a microscope on day 1 it would have saved me alot of heartache

Great video and many thanks for sharing. I have certainly learned a lot and enjoy your videos. I currently have a problem with some of my Golden Orfe with what appears to be green aglie growing/attached to their front fins! All my other fish Koi, tench and sturgeon are fine ! Someone I spoke with told me that they could be male and males become rough to touch around breeding time and the aglie attaches to the rough areas! Any ideas would be appreciated. Regards Dave

Great video - have you ever done a quarantine video? Be good to understand what procedure you put new fish through when you get them and what you’d recommend customers to do with their own quarantine regime if they have the space to do so. Cheers Chris

Another great video Tim, you got that scrape business off to a T. Blink and you miss it. I had similar problem a couple of months back on a grow on tank to high a flow rate and ph was low causing fish problems. I know Chelsea is cancelled but I read somewhere they are doing a virtual show are you still getting involved. STAY safe,

A scrape video of this quality was way overdue, really appreciate the time you took to do this, brilliant. Do you not find a body scrape can miss parasites that might be more likely found under pecs etc? I find upper body scrapes are often clean but scraping underneath is where I really struggle to get a good scrape.
@TimWaddington4 жыл бұрын
You could scrape a Koi 10 times and find nothing till the 10th scrape. When it’s just general scraping and I don’t have any issues with the Koi I just do a body, if the fish are showing signs then maybe from the lower body 👍

I’m new to koi keeping, I’m from a marine aquarium background and with that I proactively treat all fish with copper or chloroquine for 2 weeks, and then treat for internal parasites and that is followed by a 2 month observation period in another tank, before they enter the main display... do koi keepers use similar methods in order to prevent any parasites entering the pond in the first place, Thus preventing the need for this? Great channel ..thanks

So hard with ponds because they are open to the elements, birds frogs etc so it’s a constant thing

Just go with the Flow :D ( i have much air input in my substrate filter is that good or shall i do less air in it ? ) over night waterfall goes out so only bubbles are in the filter chamber...

Hi. Where can MS222 be obtained? I normally use the Kusuri 2-Phenoxyethanol. I have never seen MS222 on sale and only ever heard it mentioned in Duncan Griffiths book. Thanks

Do you ever use clove oil? I have used quality clove oil and had good results putting them to sleep. Plus, it smells nice!!

From what I have been told, the fish cannot feel anything when using this, with others they can.
