Co-parenting with an abusive ex is sooo hard. No matter what you do, you're the bad guy. If you try to protect your kids from them, you're "keeping them from their father". If you don't tell the kid what happened in the past, you're not being honest. If you do tell them, you're painting him out to be a monster. If he keeps flaking on them, you have to make up excuses to try and protect your kids, and you have to be there to handle their disappointment and pain. If your kid decides they don't want to see him, it's YOUR fault. It's just one of the hardest crosses to bear.

I'm actually speaking on behalf of my sister. And my oldest nephew has grown and changed sooo much as he's gotten older and can actually see what's going on and how hard his mom works. He actually randomly told her a week ago how proud he is of her. It was such a relief that she cried.

Omg! I remember when I was 13 and JUST like this! She is just like me with the glasses and curly hair and Harry Potter shirt! Only a few years ago. I'm 19 now. Her personality has changed some but mom's is the same. If I had any unsolicited advice to give, I would say remind her that it is okay to be her because no one else's opinions matter so long as she is still a respectful and kind person. What other people have to say doesn't matter and don't let other people pressure her into changing herself, she is fine just the way she is. Whether it's how she looks or acts or what she's into, it's okay to speak up, don't let other people shrink you. Awesome mom and daughter

She's a dope mom,and she's a good daughter.i hope to build that type of bond with my children when they get older. But they're two and one . but one thing i taught my son is to not hit women.his little sister hits him and never hits back. He wants to tho but he doesn't , he just says stop asia!😂
@chrisandrabethea53945 жыл бұрын
You better sit Asia down and start having the talk and understanding about hitting boys regardless of how old she is, because they're all not like her brother. I teach my daughter's that boys/men do hit back and most times much harder then them, as well as I tell my boys that if a girl hits them first give them a warning they swing again hit back. It's a good lesson to learn because girls are very aggressive these days and yell foul when hit back. Sorry but I'm not sorry🤷

How are you going to teach her not to hit by hitting her, I understand that everybody raises their children different but never understood that concept. Not trying to debate or judge just wanted to put that out there about boys/men hitting back, because for whatever reason it was taught not to hit girls but girls was never taught not to hit boys and now boys/men are tired of it. Equal rights are bytch at times!!!

I really like how you navigated the difficulties of life in such a loving, caring, compassionate way. I am not sure if you will read this but no matter what other comments might say (like the comments that made you angry in other videos, speculating about your life and your parenting decisions), I am amazed how you manage to navigate the imperfections of life in the best way you can, which is so much better than a lot of people who have to face far less struggles. I wish for you both to have your kindness return to you in a soft but resounding echo. You inspire me to want to have kids of my own, letting go of the fear of life being imperfect for them. Thank you for your honesty in this, both of you. :) I hope your communication continues to develop and that you spread it around you, so that people can become more in tune with each other by listening and expressing themselves with such authenticity.

Not to put pressure or anything, but maybe you should look into her having ADHD? I have it (ADD technically), and I ended up figuring it out myself because whenever I would make those comments ("I can't sit still idk why" "I just don't like it") my mom just took that as a part of my personality and helped me cope, but as I got into high school it was a lot more internal restlessness and my grades plummeted. I went from being the girl with great potential to the girl who was lazy, inattentive and the girl who didn't care when really I truly did. Once I got diagnosed and started medication, along with learning other coping mechanisms I felt SO much better and I got an IEP, my grades were finally in my control and now I'm out here wanting to graduate already so I can start working towards a Phd. it's just something to look into, if she does have it's better to find out as soon as possible before she starts developing that brain pattern of "why aren't I as good as everyone else?". I was always told about my potential, reminded of my capabilities and for that same reason, I started to blame myself for my failures. I knew I was "capable" of being good enough, but with my ADHD holding me back in ways I couldn't control made me believe I must've been broken. I don't doubt your capabilities as a mother, you are incredible and remind me a lot of my mother (only I wish she held stuff back a little more to be honest, told me too much too soon). I just want to give you the suggestion. Look into it, teach her about ADHD, see if she relates. You're right in that she is an incredible girl, I just don't want her to go through what I did especially since it was avoidable. I don't blame my mom, but I know that when we first discovered it she blamed herself for never taking other peoples advice to seek a doctors opinion.
