How Weekend News stayed afloat during the pandemic

The COVID-19 pandemic forced the CBS News staff out of the CBS Broadcast Center in New York in March. CBS stations and our affiliates stepped up to make sure you got the news. Now we take a look back at some of the people who made sure our viewers got the news this year.

Looking back here in 2023, this was a great effort, along with CBS 2 NEW YORK relying on CBS 2 LA and KPIX 5 San Francisco to do their NEW YORK newscasts for NYC viewers from other parts of the country, and in a different time zone.

WBBM CBS 2 Chicago didn't make the cut? What about WWJ CBS 62 Detroit? Or WDJT CBS 58 Milwaukee?

@@dillonbradburry8240 It’s even surprising that some other CBS affiliates (WFSB Hartford, WBZ Boston, WJZ Baltimore, WOIO Cleveland, WBNS Columbus, KPIX San Francisco, KFMB San Diego, KYW Philadelphia, KEYE Austin, KENS San Antonio, etc.) didn’t make the cut as well…

And I know all the O&Os did... CBS New York didn't, /KCBS Los Angeles, BBM Chicago, CCO Minneapolis, KYW Philadelphia, KDKA in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, these are some of the O&Os I know by heart ... I don't even hear the mention of my O&O in New York either which was a shame.. My New York Stations: WRGB, Albany, the capitol of New York, WIVB Buffalo, TVH Syracuse, WENY Elmira also didn't make the cut either, but it's good to see WUSA, a major station in the East Coast, make the cut.
