I think it worked out better to have John Deacon in the scene rather than Freddy Mercury, cause everyone knows who Freddy is. To have John Deacon introduce himself and everyone saying "huh? who?" and then making him need to awkwardly explain that he was the bassist in Queen was much funnier.

I cried like a baby. It was so emotional and reminded me of every single little thing that made Al so magnificently brilliant. I think I would have much rather preferred the humor stick to a dewey cox walk hard level of exaggerated humor. I think the movie only hit it a few times, when he's around the table talking to his dad for a few scenes near the beginning and near the end, and him talking about the absurd factory scenes. I kept expecting the movie to get as good as that dinner scene, and be similar to Walk Hard. It just didn't quite get there for me. Don't regret seeing it, was fun, and at least for the first half before really going off the rails, was actually a little educational, think I saw it with my dad, who was telling me bits and pieces about the radio DJ and other stuff.

One of the funniest comedies in years. “Weird” is a comedy masterpiece. Radcliffe should’ve won an Oscar.

Pardon me, I was filled with Joygasm when the video showed actual photos of both Weird Al and Pee-Wee together.

What impresses me more than weird Al's artistry is his integrity in keeping Dr Demento in his close proximity, especially during the important milestones in Al's life. Without Dr Demento, there is no Weird Al. 😂❤

This was one of the best clips I've scrolled and stumbled upon. It must have been surreal just being in back ground soaking in the historic characters that compose a longstanding fringe clique within an already "freakish" community.

The thing I love most and what inspires me the most about Weird Al was how he was able to shrug off the failure of UHF. He was just like "ok that didn't work, whats next?" he didn't let it slow him down, thats inspiring
@OmegaII Жыл бұрын
IIRC, AL mentioned on the UHF commentary, It opened up in '89 against Batman and the multiple biggest box office hits of the all time at the time. He always had a good perspective on his career, keeps him humble.

My parents caught me as a pre-teen listening to Dr. Demento and it happened to be during "Dead Puppies". I was grounded from listening. So I learned to put my clock radio under my pillow so I could fake like I was asleep, but still listen.

Daniel Radcliffe is underrated man. Why is not the big directors making a note of him?
@kaneobscurum6016 Жыл бұрын
probably because he seems to only be going for roles he finds fun. Big Hollywood will no doubt always try and pigeonhole him into a fantasy hero role b/c Harry Potter. And Radcliffe apparently made enough money from playing Harry that he can live comfortably while only taking roles that he has fun playing.

I grew up listening to Dr demento in the late 70s through the 80s.there were 3 shows I'd stay awake for on the weekend to listen to and record cassettes of. One was a Mexican radio station that played nothing but punk and hard core metal, the dr. Dr show and a local San diego station that did metal music not given air time during regular hours. Back then it was like metallic anthrax megadeth thrash bands mostly. I used to get 90min longmplay cassettes to record those shows then later on edit out the commercials and have a mix tape of music.
