She is Scottish in real life but she went to boarding school growing up. Her family are very wealthy and own the castle that she and kit got married in

So she was born and raised in Aberdeenshire. In general outside of Doric eastern Scottish accents tend to be softer than their central belt counterparts, especially among the middle and upper classes and fade more easily if spending significant time among English people. I can testify to this as moved to London from Aberdeen 16 years ago and my accent now is best described as west London Aberdonian.
