Critical thinking is a must that can be built by understanding concepts intuitively and rigorously from first principles. Domain knowledge, while great to have, is hard to acquire across many domains. It needs lots of real world experience to gain which may be harder for folks with fewer years of experience.

Data analyst roles have compensations ranging from 3L to 10LPA for freshers. Not much focus would be on DS and Algo. There will be special focus on SQL and basic programming with simple data structures inbuilt in Python.

4 years experienced candidates with the right skills can easily get a 10+ LPA compensation. Note that the hiring bar for experienced data analysts is also higher. You need to be good with underlying Math and programming. Knowledge of to tools like PowerBI is a good add-on skill, but not a key skill at most product based companies.
