I always thought the engineers should have the traction control switch with the light on as "ON" not "OFF"... conversely turn it OFF, the light goes off, and traction control is OFF. 😂

I leave mine on all the time for the most part. The only time I don't is in ice believe it or not. I haven't had my F-250 in ice yet, but with my old F-150 it would cause you to do nothing but spin even in four wheel drive. It was the strangest thing I'd ever seen, and it was an issue it had from when I bought it brand new.

All my f150s ran pretty "lose" as well. Meaning you got alot of wheel spin even with traction control on. But loved the system

might be a dumb question, can you safely stay in 4h for daily driving (any negatives or positives in doing so) ? is it recommended to stay in 2h for general roads ?

4H is meant for being off pavement. He’s using it here in snow where there’s enough wheel slip I guess. In general don’t use it on pavement as there is too much binding.

@cuco_gaming never a dumb question! And the 2 comments below are correct. Here is a simple rule of 4 wheel drive. Only use it on slippy surfaces. The wheels have to be able to spin at different speeds when you turn. When you engage 4 high those front wheels can not spin at different speeds. So the axles will bind and need slippery surfaces to be able to slide free to unbind.

@cuco_gaming 4 auto is an amazing feature! Use it when you have mix of dry and slick roads. Basically you can put it in 4 auto before winter and leave it there (however on days where it's all ice or all snow covered i prefer 4 high). 4 auto is a "mild 4 wheel drive with only a little power going to the front and when it sense a wheel slip it puts more power to the front for more 4 wheel drive use. Bit when you are on all dry pavement it limits the amount of power to the from so it acts like 2wd. Brilliant system and your best friend in winter
