i’m going to start annotating my books and this video helped me get a better idea of how to do it and what to use, thank you!
@mmmcookies88147 жыл бұрын
I highlight similarly in my kindle. Pink for the cutesy parts, blue for other types of quotes I like, and orange or yellow for important plot points. I'm rereading City of Bones right now and I'm using orange to highlight bits I've forgotten or when they explain something that exists in their world like Forsaken, parabatai, etc. A Court of Mist and Fury is my most-highlighted book - her writing really shines in that one.
@alyxandriaang7 жыл бұрын
Same here haha I can't stop looking at the flurry of post its in my ACOMAF book. Ohh that's actually such a smart idea with the kindle. Unfortunately my kindle isn't in color as it is the Paperwhite so I can't use the same technique for my ebooks :(

i wish i could be that organized. i might try that instead of wasting time browsing the whole book when i want to reread my favorite parts. :>
@alyxandriaang7 жыл бұрын
I started with doing that and found that after posting my reviews, I often lost track of what I wanted to mention.
@BrittanysRambles7 жыл бұрын
As you know I also tag my pages, but each color does mean something because that's how I keep track of things I want to mention when I'm reviewing. I also use hot pink for romance but I have a couple other shades of pink that mean other cute things. Yellow is for quotes and passages I want to remember and I have a few shades of blue that range from sadness to bromance xD Great video, thanks for sharing!
@alyxandriaang7 жыл бұрын
Oh that's interesting. I love how people are sharing their different interpretations of the colors and yours definitely makes sense!

Having owned a brick and mortar used book store if you leave these sticky notes in for several years you will have brown patches in your books when they are removed. Also after time the glue does not stick so the tabs will fall off the pages . I make my key reference notes with page references on the blank pages in the front of the book everything else goes in the margins or I underline with a #2 art pencil acid free so no damage even after many years. Highlighters are a big no.

hi! this is very helpful for people like me who recently just got into tabbing. i have no idea about this tabbing thing but when the book that i ordered arrived, it came with the sticky flags (or post-its) so i searched on how do i supposed to use them. thank you very much! ☺️

I think when a book has a lot of tabs like the ones you showed it looks so pretty. I used to tab more but then I stopped. I need to get back to it or do the notebook thing. I do need some system to help me with reviews.

Do your tabs remove the ink from your book? I’m taking an English course and just realized today that my tabs are removing some ink and even some small bits of the paper. Just did a crisis KZbin search trying to find ones that won’t ruin my books :p
@alyxandriaang5 жыл бұрын
i notice that when i leave them in long enough and come back to the books months later to remove the stickies, that it does happen! but it's not so serious to cause damage. i would say make sure you're getting the plastic stickies bec those are easier to remove than paper ones i've noticed.

I have tabbed one book and its basically just my fav part of qos bc i needed to reread that A LOT. I write reviews but I like small, direct, non-spoilery reviews best so thats usually what I write... no need to really get tabs for that. sometimes i feel like I should, just to get my ideas in order but i only have my books for around 2 weeks so... reading it, taking pics for bookstagram, and then it's no longer mine. idk if i would want the tab in my pic (gotta work for that feed) and I would have to take them out anyway... Is it really worth it?

I love tabbing/ using post it notes when I'm reading but I never had special color code system.
