They've tried to march on the capital New Delhi, but were stopped by police using tear gas and batons.

Small farmers like us are happy with this bill as now we can freely sell our crop directly to the firms without any interference of any middle men. Why do u think mostly punjab and harayan are protesting because either they are rich farmers or they are the middle men and by the way I'm from Punjab.

Your are absolutely right just to add to this these big farmland farmers are not paying any taxes. They seek for subsidy in seed procurement and irrigation.
