Hope everyone enjoys the video :) I worked hard gathering a lot of the info and trying to condense it down to a (somewhat) reasonable length. I unfortunately had a few Copyright issues in the original cut of the video and needed to edit quite a bit to finally get it published. Due to having to rework the video, I noticed there's some minor editing errors, but I hope it's still enjoyable!

Great video. Will Vinton gave me my first job in animation; I was an animator at the studio from 1999-2001 during the PJs/Gary and Mike heyday. I still work in stop motion animation. RIP Will Vinton.

Very nice work, dude. I was there toward the end. Managed to get captured in several scenes of this video, and that's my proprietary clay you see in the logo for Clay Dream. Will Vinton was my teacher at NWFC years earlier. The details for all this were tricky, but you nailed it.

Thank you for making this. Will's work means a lot to me. He was one of my absolute favorite animators since a very young age. Hearing his passing a few years ago was very rough. It fills me with so much joy to see younger people find his work online. The man had such a vast library of work still waiting to be discovered.

I grew up with Gumby cartoons that my grandma recognized still in reruns, and I watched Moonwalker about a million times on VHS. It was a wild time, and great to watch claymation in it's golden age seeping into the culture. Good to know the backstory, he reminds me of Jim Henson just a little bit, but not everyone gets to be Henson level. Someone had to be the best at that small commercial level, and that was Will

Job well done. I have just got into stop motion animation, and I'm researching the history of this art. While I didn't know the names, I've seen many of the work from both Will and Bob. Born in 1988, I partook in the California Raisin crazy with the figurines, I remember the claymation Michael Jackson, The PJ's, and many other works tied to Will Vinton. I am privileged to have seen this work. Thank you

I loved Will Vinton and bought Mark Twain and his Christmas Claymation DVD. I also bought the Raisins. I just watched Claydreams. Which brought me here. I'm super disgusted with Knight and what he did to Vinton. I bought Laika movies but just can't after what I learned tonight. No Nikes ever again. I'm sure the stress brought about the blood cancer. Just like I believe the domestic violence and divorce I went through, caused my cancer. Great video and you did justice.

Great video. Very well researched and well edited. ---Greed. The story here is greed. Phil and Travis wanted to buy their way into making movies, simple as that. Vinton himself was also ultimately just a greedy businessman. He never should have trusted the Knight family and Chilly Tee. Had Will had the foresight to give away his company to his employees like Peter Lord of Aardman (or Bob of Bob's Red Mill for that matter!) they would still be around today. Peter Lord was quoted as saying, "As long as you make interesting stories, you will have work." I deftly avoided it all, and forged my own success without having to deal with any of them. Vinton is just another victim of advantage of this billionaire who made his fortune off the backs of child labor with his shoe business. (He regularly interferes in Oregon politics, I mean.. cough...donates to right wing candidates in the state to try and get even more tax breaks for him and his buddies as well.) Disgusting.

not everything is supposed to be a "brand". some things choose to go down in storyform so they aren't burdened with it. some even keep the old ways going.....

Being born in the summer of 1984, when I was a child, I had much of the California Raisins merchandise you displayed. I regret that I have but the one subscription to give you. Stay the course, Ser. Good things are on the way to you. I humbly submit, for your consideration, a potential subject of a future profile such as this, whose artwork also featured in the music video for Petet Gabriel's song Big Time. I highly recommend researching the only man dedicated to integrating comedy into the sublime and sophisticated but often stuffy and self-serious world of high art, Chattanooga's favorite son Wayne White.

Super interesting, but it got a little confusing when eventually you keep referring to Will Vinton as "Vincent".

I don't think you needed to censor the word life. I get that suicide can be a touchy subject but censoring doesn't help. It hurts the flow and adds in an awkward pause. Other than that it's a great video to watch during my lunch hour and beyond.
