Sponsors, ad revenue, and primary/third-party merch sales (assuming you get a commission) I think are going to be your greatest sources of revenue to start. One big source of revenue to cover your O&M though (and establish solid net positive financial growth in your venture) is potentially going to be a contract(s) to provide/sell collected data from the various equipment that you have onboard (e.g. meteorological, tidal data, maritime traffic data, security, etc.). I think a good group to solicit for additional sponsors and/or ad placement are companies, retailers, etc. that are in the maritime (e.g. small commercial vessels, yachts, boats & watercraft, related equipment such as lighting, vests, etc.), fishing and catching (e.g. poles/reels/tackle & related equipment, sonar equipment, bait, etc.) and survivalist markets (e.g. food prep suppliers, medical kits, solar batteries and panels, communications equipment such as radios, etc.). You may even want to reach out to the guys at StarLink to see if they might be willing to sponsor and/or advertise with you.

@@thelighthousecenters The failures are attractive to viewers. Even reality TV uses failures to thicken the plot. From a purely entertainment standpoint, showing the ups and downs of this project is a good idea. If showing the failures also means you have more content to share, you will receive more KZbin revenue to invest into the lighthouse project. However, I also think there is an educational argument for showing us failures, as people should learn that with anything in life, there will be setbacks. Seeing how you roll with the punches will be both educational and entertaining. Keep up the great work!

I love lighthouses and have visited many of them in the past, I have one about 30 minutes away (cape spear) which is a national historic site and I take visitors to the island there all the time and it still doesn't get old after 20 years since my first visit. Always renovate a building from the top first. The dust and debris will always fall to the lower floors. I would then start by sandblasting, industrial vacuuming. Repeating this process until you know what needs to be done. Then start repair from the top, downwards. I completely renovated a decrepit 1886 shop and dwelling. I made it magnificent!

Chaps if I can suggest you communicate a regular schedule. Doesn’t matter how regular or irregular (post every two weeks or every month) the viewers will be far more comfortable knowing when to expect the next instalment. The more precise you can be the better e.g every Thursday or last Thursday of each month.

Something to consider, there may be historians or maritime archaeologists who could be interested in studying the lighthouse or providing advice on conservation. Plus if the lighthouse gets a proper dock it could act as a staging point for investigating nearby wrecks. A quick check of AWOIS shows quite a few in the area. You would probably be looking at programs like Texas A&M or East Carolina University.

Not quite sure what it is about lighthouses, but my wife and I have a room full of them. Models made from resin, we're talking 5-6" high at best, one made from stained glass, curtains with lighthouses, lighthouse shirts, lighthouse drawings, mosaics and paintings. Oh, and our ceiling fan has lighthouses as chain pulls. I even have a lighthouse bookmark that became my cat's favorite chew toy. Yeah, it's totally dusted...but anyhow, this channel helps 'feed our need for more lighthouses!'

There is sommeting like that darge at a french fort caled "Fort Broyard" it might be a good idea to take a look at somme picture of it and how it is constructed (also the fort is beeing used a tv show set so if you see pictures of somme funny looking peoples doing funny fings don't get too confused).
