Was recently in a situation where my faith was put to test and thought that i could only resolve the situation by taking action and forcing what i wanted to happen. In truth i had little idea what to do, and was uncertain of how to handle it all. The wisdom you showed me here teached me more of gods wisdom and how a pure path is to be walked. Thank you so much for what you do! God bless❤️

@@adwoa1aankamah205 Hey, just wanted to say that you shouldn't say 'omg', because your taking God's name in vain. God is loving and merciful, and also righteous, that's why he doesn't tolerate sin. I love you, that's why I wanted to tell you this, because maybe nobody else has told you in your life.
@adwoa1aankamah2052 жыл бұрын
@@sylvanwiersma Thank you. I don’t mean “omg” in the sense everyone else uses it tho. So I wasn’t taking God’s name in vain but it might’ve been better to write it out so people don’t get confused
@sylvanwiersma2 жыл бұрын
@@adwoa1aankamah205 Well, I don't know in which context you meant to say it, but I don't think it's ever a good thing to say. "The word vain (as it’s rendered in the ESV) can mean “empty,” “nothing,” “worthless,” or “to no good purpose.” We are forbidden, therefore, from taking the name of God (or taking up the name or bearing the name, as the phrase could be translated) in a manner that is wicked, worthless, or for wrong purposes." I think when your using that phrase that it's always for the wrong purposes.

This was actually very helpful for me right now. I stumbled across somethings on youtube that scared me, about the state of our country with inflation and possible food shortages. I began to fear. This week my kids memory verse is "The Lord is for me I will not be afraid" and that popped into my mind. Your chats and podcast always come on time and are really helpful. I've been speaking to my kids a lot about wisdom and we've been incorporating Proverbs into our study. Their verse last week was " The fear of the Lord is the beginning of discipline, Fools despise wisdom and discipline." They dont understand much as they are 6, 4, 2 and 1 month but while teaching them Im also strengthening myself. Your channel inspired me to not worry about how young my children are and to start reading the bible to them now.

this video was amazing all around, something special about the beginning/first half was your ability to clearly explain the bible verse and draw in other verses to sustain it. so concise and rich, awesome skill you have there! this motivated me to want to read the Bible intentionally and get to the point of understanding, thank you!

Wow I’ve literally been praying for God to bless me with a lottery win I want to take my family in El Salvador out and I have no money. It feels so discouraging when you work so hard but don’t see the money. I hate money but my bills keep telling me “you better think about this money cux we’re not free”. I 100% agree I’d rather have wisdom too. I pray for wisdom, spiritual growth/maturity before I pray for money related things. Don’t know if it makes any difference. I have so much faith that my Lord will keep working on me.

Hey Alex, just wanted to know what your thoughts are on tattoos. I noticed you had some on your arm and I've frequently grappled with the idea of getting one myself, with the only roadblock being God made me exactly as he wanted me to be (I think it's in Leveticus?). I think a tattoo that reminds me of my faith and gives me a conversation starter to evangelise with is my main reason for getting one. What do you think? Thanks.

Hi Alex, I’m sure you might not see this but my soul feels heavy and I’d really appreciate a perspective from someone who is in a place of ministry and who has walked more life than me. How does one evangelize? And what does that even look like? Sometimes I feel convicted that I’m not talking about Jesus to every single person I meet. But then I realize having tried to evangelize that it’s often awkward and doesn’t really meet people where they’re at to just insert it into the conversation. Likewise I don’t feel like I’m a street preacher kind of person, that’s not where I’m gifted. How do I fulfill the call of furthering the kingdom and spreading the Gospel and how do I get over this guilt like somehow I’m responsible for making sure every person I meet hears the Gospel or is that a realistic conviction?
@ws62582 жыл бұрын
Step into the light of truth. See yourself for what you really are and see the world around you for what it really is, because deceiving yourself is your biggest threat to living life to the fullest.
@trinitygrau49782 жыл бұрын
@@ws6258 I'm not exactly sure exactly what that means, but I'm being rather honest with myself in admitting that this is something I'm wrestling with. If that is meant to be a subtle call to leave my Christian faith, I don't think I'm walking back years of research and personal revelation.
