Exactly, same with questions like, "Why is that man so big?" when they see an overweight man at the grocery store. As we get older we realize those questions can often hurt people's feelings, so it's not something you shout to your mom in the middle of the aisle, but they're not doing it to be mean, they are just curious. If you see mostly white people as a kid if you see someone with dark skin, you'll wonder why, and vice versa. There's a video of an Albino white guy who goes to Africa to learn about how Albino Africans are treated, he goes to an orphanage where some Albino kids live and all of the kids are wanting to touch his skin and hair and ask questions, out of pure curiosity.

For real. I want someone to name me a baby that was born with hate. They emulate what they see around us to learn. I've been telling people this for years. Racism and hatred are taught. I've been around some white kids when I was younger who haven't had much experience with my hair type (I'm creole and it's sort "in between"). Instead of bad comments they were curious, as a kid should be. Why was my hair different from theirs? Why did it feel different? Etc etc. That curiosity is what we should have all around, not coming in and dismissing others for their differences. (Just speaking from my experience here)

Kids are different - so one is the girl and the other the boy... Next movie: Kindergarden Cop (rolls his eyes at the son of the gynecologist, who has to tell all the other 5 year olds, what the differences are). Children want to know WHAT they are, so don't lie to them - what they do, to test the bounderies of the "role they got born into", is another matter and helps them to develop their own and unique personality. There is no black or white in humans (hair YES - white equals old and there are other natural colours available at a younger age), just light skinned and dark skinned - "white" becomes nearly translucent and shows your blood shimmering through, witch makes the lighter skintone a bit of pinkish. People of African descent lack the Neanderthal genes, the rest of the world seems to have assimilated - so if you are of "mixed race" you might have a darker skin than most Caucasians, BUT you might also have aquired some of their Neanderthal heritage...

For the most part I think God vary rarely involves himself with humanity. He created a world, interacted with it some then left humanity hoping they'd do the right thing. I think he would have great wisdom but also humor as Morgan's version did. Morgan's God, for the most part let people live their lives. Interacted and pushed things in a certain direction every now and then. Sometimes interacting with specific people. He also hide in plain site. He wants us to do and be good. Sin less if not at all and pray for the things we truly care about rather than using empty prayers for something we don't really fully care about. We have freedom of will for a reason. That is why we're his perfect creation. Because he created something that he could never fully control but slightly influence. I believe part of the reason he's vague in the biblical stories/ lessons is because he gives the answer within the vague metaphors, its just up to the person to figure it out and how to make it to the end of the lesson and moral. No. The establishment class wants to erase any semblance of anything that evokes positivity or actually empowers people. If you want something like this done right, I recommend the children’s book “My Shadow is Pink.” The main character (he’s never given a name) is a boy who likes unicorns, wearing dresses, etc., but the book makes it clear that’s just the kind of stuff he likes and it doesn’t define his gender. I think the biggest difference between them is that cartoons from when I was a kid (born 1993) were framed more as starting a conversation instead of outright saying “you need to think this way or you’re wrong and bad.” All shows try to teach lessons, but in some ways, I think the way the questions are framed and presented is more important than the questions & lessons themselves, especially for growing minds. I don’t like this closed minded approach, especially when the content & lessons themselves are so questionable. There’s a lot more value in teaching critical thinking instead of strictly compliance.

I also have been learning the Russian language for several years. Tbh I really like Static Shock. They have an episode about racism where it's a realistic scenario. Richie (the white best friend) has a dad who has prejudice thoughts about black people and he is directly confronted by Static Shock's dad who changes his views and learns from his backward mindset.

As I kid I couldn't even tell races apart (I grew up in an area that had a lot of Hispanics, Asians, Arabs, and whites, but I didn't see a black person irl until I was an adult). I thought Michael Dorn was so dark because the makeup/prosthetics for his costume playing Worf did that. It wasn't until I saw pictures of him out of makeup as an adult that it clicked and I was shocked. I never had considered they specifically cast black people to place this one alien race. XD

I am bisexual and have lived in Utah, a very religious and conservative state, for my whole life. I have never experienced any real setback or any form of oppression because of my sexuality. I don't think its fair to say no one in this country has experienced oppression for their sexuality but I think simply being lgbt isn't a good reason to go around wearing a badge of victimhood. I think that many people today choose to see themselves as victimized without experiencing any real victimization and its very unhealthy. For a long time I thought that way and it made me miserable even though there was no actual material reason for me to feel like I was being victimized. I think its important to see the difference in real oppression and just being part of a minority, because a lot of us have it really good and claiming false victimhood will only blind you to the reality of how good your life truly is.

I was born and raised in Utah and I agree. I come from a religious and conservative family and decided to stay religious and conservative myself. However, I've ALWAYS had family and friends from varying sexualities to varying religions and races. We never had an issue getting along because we never felt like we HAD to agree on every little thing. If we hurt each other's feelings, we apologized. But otherwise we'd make each other laugh so hard that we'd either stop breathing or start crying. People act like if you have different opinions, you can't get along or you're somehow "against" each other. But that is so far from the truth and there are people who are proving that every single day.

I find it hard to be in asexual online groups because they keep going on about "aphobia". I've been told that my lack of interest in sex is due to "low testosterone" (and the media is constantly denigrating virginity), but I don't consider that bigotry of any sort (I've never been beaten up for whom I don't have sex with). It seems that my mental disorders make my life far more difficult than my sexual orientation does.

Yes! I'm always bringing up Static Shock as a terrific example of a good show that dealt with heavy topics like gang violence, school shootings, homelessness, and racism without become super preachy. The teenagers on that show kept trying to relate with and care for each other. I'm a white woman and as a girl that was one on my favorite shows to watch on Saturday mornings because it was just good.

I lost a friend recently over a stupid argument like this, me just pointing out facts. I live in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, a predominantly black city, black on black crime here happens quite a lot and it is becoming worse over the years. We're becoming the Detroit of the Midwest. ONE neighborhood here has higher crime rates than the national average. And I say it's their ACTIONS, not their race that gets them into trouble! How am I racist for saying that? Statistics do not lie nor do they care about your feelings. I am NOT racist, yeah, I'm a quarter black (mostly Latino and white, yeah us mixed race people get shit too and nobody talks about that really), there's a lot of black music I love, I've met blacks who are really cool people and REALIZE how free they are and that they are the living dream of their ancestors and I am very happy for them. People taking their freedoms for granted is becoming far too common now to the point it is sadly pathetic. The revival of antisemitism in this country is a whole other topic and a pretty sad one.
