A very good video demonstrating how premium wood pellets are made.

Excellent presentation of the pellet making process. Another pellet making topic I would love to learn more about is the amount of energy required to manufacture pellets. But that might be pretty involved & might be more of a thesis paper for a college student. There is the fossil fuels required to power the trucks that deliver the wood, the fossil fuels used to build the trucks & the machinery used to make the pellets & then the energy needed to power the manufacturing process, make the plastic bags for the pellets, & last but not least the fossil fuels needed for the trucks to deliver the finished product.

Conditioner just another word for harmful chemicals that turn to gases in your home when burnt. They're that shinny glue looking finish that keeps the pellet burning all day without going out or breaking up back into sawdust. Burning wood is harmful for people indoors period. Not to mention in a normal fire place you loose over %90 of the heat intended for the home. That's not even the issue here though it's the unsafe use of the pellet.

Lots of automation used - Looks like a large initial investment is required to get into the pellet making business.

We are just learning how to use energy more efficiently. like gasoline wasted every year by not using it efficiently by using it as a liquid rather than a gas.. People don't realize how much free energy the sun give every one on Earth every day! and don't know how to tap on its source and just only used the heat off the sun, rather than the gamma rays from it, much less storing energy. We really can not even store energy with out it leaking out, like a car battery ect over time the electrical current leaks out. Food for thought ~ 1 lighting bolt of electricity can supplies a city with power for a whole year. We are still caveman just learning. Its the 21 century and time for things to change! Maybe aliens know how to store and use energy, maybe that why there seen around a storm to store the energy off a storm, it could be just 1 reason they come to Earth. Too refuel! Our planet Earth, is a storage of living things and seeds of life, going threw space and time threw out the galaxy !

You have got to be kidding me! Burning trees to produce energy. I could see using by product like saw dust but this is sickening. We should be finding alternate building materials as well.

+Tony Marcuccino better burn that we can plant it again. How about coal and gasoline ? We burn it too...but the oil can not renew
@dickidydoodah8 жыл бұрын
How do you think saw dust is made? Trees are cut to produce building material, paper and all sorts of things. Trees are a renewable resource, they need managed just like a crop does.

I was commenting on the use of hardwood trees specifically for making pellets for energy not as a by product of lumber production.

They should use trees blown down from storms,,Every town collects branches that can be used too.leaves & bark can be sold as kitty litter.

trees that are not growing anymore are not taking CO2 from the air anymore. therefore better to cut them, and grow a new tree instead. and instead of burning fossil fuel, burning biomass is renewable, co2 will return to trees..

Pellet manufacturing is a carbon-intensive process and the sequestration potential( and other important values of forests(commercially called wood, wood slash, logs) ais LOST from the stripped trees. Pellet making is neither green or renewable. I have not seen the figures on the CO2 , particulates and other Greenhouse gases emitted from the pellet-making process for good reason.:these manufacturers and timber companies want to makeprofits --at the expense of public health, biodiversity and future generations due to their contribution to climate chaos.---at the taxpayer's expense! (and the unseen costs of future generations of humans and other parts of the natural world..
@kevinculleton41899 жыл бұрын
Beth Adams Really? You don't know the figures on the CO2,? Trees are "not renewable?" You use big words to describe your ignorance. Climate change is a political movement that has had so many scandals it is impossible to keep track, yet people like you repeat the same lies and data manipulations to fit the agenda behind this imaginary monster. The latest NOAA report is so full of data manipulation to make the "facts" fit the theory, that anyone with a brain can see through it. The scientific method has been abandoned in favor of profit-taking by environmental affiliates. They will keep that gravy train going as long as possible.

+Beth Adams Can gas / coal etc renewable ??!! Trees...the opposite. We can renew it.

NOT always,,The wood can be dried in large greenhouses by the sun.
