Hi Nathan! That's a great thought. World Vision does indeed work to empower the community to raise themselves out of poverty. That's why typically our first year in a new area is spent listening to the community. Also, our development model lasts approximately 15 years before we move out, having already helped train the community to care for themselves.

Great video. I have witnessed some of these happen in some communities. But the video is focused too much on WV without the mention of the role of communities and other partners in achieving this. These achievements are only possible when the community take the lead. Personally, I do not like focusing on challenges/problems rather I would propose the vidoe uses community aspirations as the driving/guiding factor in developing the actions. I am not sure this video should be shown to communities.
