Jake Paul's not bad. I can't fault the guy for getting to the level of skill he has. Could he beat a good pro? Most likely no. But could he compete at a most local boxing cards? Absolutely. For someone without tons of experience, Jake Paul is not an easy fight. Against Nate Robinson, Jake stayed cool against a high caliber athlete who was trying to knock him out, and he counter-punched. That might sound easy, but if you box, how many people can stay that cool under that kind of threat with limited experience? I haven't seen many guys who stay in the pocket, slip, roll, counter over the top. For a guy with so few fights, Jake Paul fights well, like Rogan said.

I know it sounds a bit boring but a lot of us have some good stories to tell from the dangerous job we occupy (statistically the most dangerous job in the U.S. - someone gets killed every 3 days in the industry). We have unique insights into how forests and trees function including the history of arboriculture, logging and trees in this country. Also, talking to a guy who routinely climbs 150ft into the air to cut down the very thing he's standing on would undoubtedly lead to an interesting conversation.

but at this point jake has been training in boxing for 3 or 4 years with highly paid coaches, so he's doing what a lot of boxers do and might have been able to expedite his advancement in boxing due to him being a millionaire, he just hasn't boxed a boxer in competition, he has training and can KO a person, that's kind of all we know, I think that when he fights a boxer-the boxer is gonna play it safe, keep a distance, and let jake wear himself out, he's probably a fish out of water in the later rounds and lacks the conditioning along with everything else, I'm not a boxer though, so maybe a boxer would want to end him quick, what do you think?

I think a more valid response to Joe's point, is that there are probably a lot a new fighters who could knock out Tyron woodley, but we don't hear about that because they're not fighting big names like Tyron, they're fighting unknown "bums", and that makes zero noise whatsoever if they knock them out. Sure, Jake can punch. He has knockout power. But so do a load of boxers with his level of experience. Let's see Jake do that with an actual boxer with a decent record, like Tommy. A boxer with muscle memory. An actual boxer who knows how to box and avoid hits like that, unlike Tyron. It means very little. Of course if we never knew who Jake Paul was and then he knocks out Tyron Woodley, of course we'd be like "woah who's this guy", but that's just all hype and no substance, exactly the same thing. Under 10 professional fights doesn't mean that the fighter hasn't been tested. These fighters have often been tested and proven themselves on some of the biggest amateur stages. Matchroom doesn't have many, if any, boxers at Jake Paul's weight with under 10 fights (most of the fighters on matcroom's roster at his weight would smoke him in my opinion) but Hearn mentioned Cheavon Clark (@c4chev) in the interview. Cheavon has fought multiple times and won medals at European and Commonwealth levels in the amateurs, with 40 bouts at amateur. Impressive performance on his debut and I think would beat Jake Paul despite having only 1 pro fight. Credit to Jake Paul for stepping through those ropes, training and progressing like he's done but he needs to be wary of his overconfidence really. To think himself as way above average already either is a huge sign of his lack of boxing knowledge or underestimating the skills of these elite level fighters... Still a long way to go for him but excited to see how he'll progress. At this stage I believe Cheavon beats him

He is way above average at this stage. That's a tremendous accomplishment. But there are levels to this. U can be a blue chip prospect with a 1-0 record. Difference between blue chip and way above average is huge. Having said that those same blue chip prospects would love to have his money and name draw. These aren't fools we are criticizing here.

Jake Paul isn't over confident, its an act, he's scared stiff, and he's playing a game for money, he can't fight actual real boxers, and you'll never see it, only weird crazy fights vs old people or deranged people that he knows he has a chance to win.
@alexdenommee3219

You could beat Jake Paul guy, this is a guy who will never fight a fair match. He is using substances. It takes at least a decade before people see results in training for combat sports or martial arts. The reason is because most of these people were 6-7 years old when they first when in it and by the time their 16, they are already touching upon a decade of fucking experience. Now lets compare that to someone his age, lets say 36, who has trained for 30 years... There is also a HIGH possibility specifically in boxing to run into a goober like this. Jake Paul is a nothing burger and he is lucky he is having the right people make the right fight choices for him, all it would take is for him to go against anyone who's faced real hardship alongside training since childhood and Jake is in SERIOUS trouble. People think just because someone can go 2-3 rounds and throw punches in a ring is being trained/good, he will literally be a punching bag to anyone far outclassing him, just waiting for him to make a bad move and punish him for it. Lets not even talk about wrestlers, not the WWE, like actual grapple wrestling, Jake Paul would get cartoonishly destroyed by any decently coached wrestler. Imagine someone who has done all/tons of various martials arts from childhood, and you step in the ring 25~ years later to fight this goober, your going to get absolutely bagged. Tl;DR: Jake Paul is an influencer. If he were to fight anyone who trained seriously for combat sports, he would make far less sense when he speaks. You cannot compare training through puberty and development of bones, muscle, tendons, ligaments, etc with taking substances at 20 to get ripped/jacked to throw punches like a goober. Logan got away with it because Logan, based on a lot of my research, was a lucky duckling genetically and has good natural strength, a great frame, etc. I wish Jake Paul would have been a different type of influencer than his brother, he could have been his own thing, instead he follows the crowd too much. Last I checked, the big streamers making money (without scamming) aren't rushing into combat sports Jake.

He is good against people that do not box and have never boxed for a living. If he matched up against a real boxer, in his weight class, it would be over quickly. He does have strength and has a punchers chance (as anyone does) but he deserves no credit in these fights except from a financial standpoint. These fights are put on for entertainment purposes only and the competition is a manufactured illusion to bring in more money.

True. He needs to be challenged and, tbf, winning against Tyron twice was a massively impressive career highlight, but an eye opener. Jake met his match the first time he fought Tyron and the second time around, he was performing a little worse. But, he definitely did use his ring iq to knock him out and that just shows his heart. He can definitely survive against a real boxer, a journey man perhaps, but they'll not make it easy. Jake will either get out smarted and knocked down, maybe knocked out or lose on points by a lot. I want Jake to fight Tommy Fury.
