I Think some Constructive Criticism goes a long way with your helper and positivity ..if you have a negative Attitude its toxic so pack up and haul ass ... I was Raised by Old Drillers . Some of them would scream at you and sit in truck and make you drill some of them were Very Humble and would share some things . I learned the most by being very observative behind the Rig and ask quiestions ..not to many though its a distraction ;) I soaked it up and stayed strong and took the good and left the bad behind and made a Amazing career for myself travling around Drilling .

Been doing drilling foundations tiebacks micro piles going on 8 years now as a helper, got on a rig a few times when buddy was sick always wanted to learn more but I’m checked out now, every job was told I’ll be a driller then get hired start me as a helper to see then boom to good at helping making sure everything is in place no waiting just get a much holes as possible but I’m kinda over this, it’s the same every job, plus it’s not even high pay, 35 an hour, I had my own side gig and I was making 500 a day, mobile Detail charged 180 for a full detail, can’t feel my hands when I sleep my knees are swollen after work, no waters or no breaks at work like I’m over it

I was 22 at one point when I started drilling underground and I had helpers in their 40's - 50's. They liked that 2-1 schedule and the money that came along with it, and no education needed. Plus we were in Uranium mines in northern Saskatchewan and they needed 50% northern residents on our crew, so pretty much all our helpers were RSN. I'm from Flin Flon/Creighton area, and my father had a Creighton address that I used just to give me a little brownie points. You could pick 4-2 or 2-1 schedule if you had a Cameco paid flight which I did, I opted for 4-2, better money, and better days off. Really good drilling up there. BQTK, Averaging 90-114 meter shifts between 5 drills. It was an underground hard rock Uranium mine, Rabbit Lake. It shut down in 2016 after Cigar Lake started producing.
