as a yorick main this video brings tears to my eyes, this man did my boy justice one thing I'd mention though. sheen rush is not always the play. if it's a matchup you win, sheen is solid because you can proc it repeatedly in trades. but otherwise it's better to buy phage into harder matchups because your ghouls proc it when they auto, giving yorick a larger window to close the gap. the extra AD also makes his csing under tower easier and the extra health helps him in the lane if they stack a lot of armor a lot of yoricks will tend to go the less popular build of cleaver iceborn so that he can duel the tanks while still being tanky himself though naturally he loses the AS (though some people try to push triforce cleaver into those tank heavy comps)

@@mark5338 yorick's ult doesn't do that. what it does is apply a mark every few seconds that he consumes by autoing in order to deal that dmg. if they are significantly tanky come lategame he needs armor shred if he wants to deal with them. trying to fight a 5 item ornn or sion is like pulling teeth if you just go standard triforce > steraks. what yorick shines against is other bruisers, champs that don't go full tank. like krikey mentioned, yorick spikes hardest midgame where he can 1v2 really well and the tanks don't have enough resistances to keep him from tearing their assholes apart. if you think that by midgame you can be pushed into their t3 tower then yeah, you don't need armor pen/shred because the game will end before they get too tanky. but if it looks like game will drag out it's better safe than sorry bc + ibg sacrifices some splitting power for a safer playstyle. most yorick mains/otps don't like it because we're used to the AS from triforce. but to be fair it does give him better utility in fights since he doesn't have to look for a flank to play from and he can frontline properly

Can't believe I missed this video on release, Notifiication bell has failed me again, eitherway I like this video only things I would add is this.. Maxing W is way more effective than E, the extra HP on the wall makes it way stronger, while maxing E gives minimum base dmg but the Haste and slow doesn't go up ever. Could even Max W first till you get 3 points into it, since Q dmg difference isn't that big and the heal is based on your lvl not the spell rank. As for bringing Maiden to Team fight, She can be usefull and give you more dmg, but she's always more useful and consistent while being in a sidelane. Because if you E once an enemy, Box them in and nobody follows up or the enenmy flashes away, which sounds good, but now she's dead and is mostly trailing behind. And you could have burned their summoner or caught them out without her being there anyway, I like to play Yorick like an AD Malzahar player, by kiting around a lot. Buildwise ofcourse I'm bias towards Iceborn Cleaver (Become a Believer), the Builds are good, but lets be realistic that Yorick has a weak early and one of the most counters/bad matchups in the game, so one good jg gank from the enemy and you'll hit your 3.7K Triforce spike way later, just think of how many times by the time you finished the item while behind, the game is over by then. My Alternative ofcourse is building Black Cleaver first, First of all Ghouls only scale off of HP & AD and I mainly play around them and kite a lot, so with this type of playstyle especially when its needed vs some counter matchups where they will out trade you up close, its way better to invest and focus on a Ghoul centric build. with Black Cleaver, the Ghouls proc it themselves and gain the most stats out of any item for just 3k Gold, and its easier to build compared to triforce. Since every Triforce item is 1K+ Gold, so even with a bad back timer or you're just behind you can always buy a component of BC while getting your Tabis or Bramble vest depending the matchup. Then you can build Sanguine to compliment BC for more burst and sustain and fix the lack of attackspeed or Iceborn, Iceborn's power is mostly in the slow, since like I said maiden trails behind and without E or after it expires so does the ghouls vs a mobile target, but once you tag them with the slow, they can easily catch back up to the target and get in 1-4 more autos before they enemy champion outruns them. Ontop of that with a 40% CDR build, by the time your wall is about to expire, your E you used to land the W, is back up, and your wall will have like a 4 second CD. So it will also be back up aswell, so vs immobile champions or when their dash is down, they're basically dead always. Then you finish it off with DD if you didn't go Sanguine and end it with a spirit visage to compliment and boost the healing, with this build you'll have everything you need more often than not, HP, AD, CDR, MR, Armor, Armor Reduction and Lethality, so it's a well rounded stat build that's way cheaper than most others for while you're behind. So that if you're doomed and you were gonna lose, atleast you didn't ONLY have triforce which I see a lot when Yorick players lose a game, all they have is Triforce. When they could have just gone for Cleaver into Tank then finish Sanguine for when they catch back up, since Yorick scales very well into lategame. (His Q Healing and Pets scale with lvls) Anyway great Video t('-'t Iceborn Cleaver Become Believer ^-^)b

I’m an OTP Yorick NA. Let’s clear up some confusion 1. Yorick is very buggy. E does not always proc on large buffs 2. Skuttle crab can escape your W 3. Maiden does not engage in team fights - watch vids on YT about it 4. If you E during the team fight and you proc maiden, she dies and does very little to no damage 5. If you drop maiden in a lane, you must do it with a canon minion wave or super canon wave 6. Yorick is a B tier champ at best. Learn to win with Yorick and you will crush with other champs 7. I win lane 90% of the time, but in this meta, when your bot lane goes 1/18, Yorick is not able to hyper carry like a Nasus or Jax See you on the rift

There is also a challenger yorick main in Sea server (Philippines) Whom build liandry, instead of death dance, sometimes he builds both, with this build he is able to deal magic damage and AD making enemy armor less effective, I also notice that with liandry's dealing 4-6k solo baron (no maiden just ghouls) he also sometimes out damaged AP Mid laners, I think he's the best Yorick in PH region

I think something not mentioned in this video that's really underrated is Spellbook Yorick. In many matchups Grasp isn't very useful, and Conq is difficult to stack and keep up. Especially against ranged champions. And taking a combat summoner around lv 6 gives you as much 1v1 power as those runes. And the scaling is really good, allowing you to take Nimbus Cloak and Transcendence for easy 45% CDR and good gap closing ability with those extra summs. imo it's the best scaling option in terms of runes. It's similar to Nasus using Spellbook. The only problem is that you can't swap spells while your ghouls hit things, but you don't need to do that very often anyway.

Bad at mathematics I guess, there are only 54 champions that are picked in toplane including offmeta picks like Vayne and Lucian. On average there should be a 2% pickrate in the case of toplane because 1 champion has to be picked from 54 champs and since there are 2 toplaners in a single queue the odds are doubled... that's why 1% pick rate is definitely below average

Yo ive been playing a bunch of Yorick lately. Build Manamune like the old days, It's actually insane for his mid game if you first item Manamune plus fleet your transition is insane and your dps gets nuts. With iceborne liandries 3rd and visage he's actually nuts. I feel like he's actually pretty strong atm with this build. If I could post a screen shot I'd show the results but its in low diamond too.

In teamfights i often find it very hard to be in the middle of it wanting to lock down multiple opponents with dashes and other utility. Yesterday i had a moment where i went to lock down 1 mage, he used hourglass, went 2 feet to the next target which dashed away, went to the third one which also used hourglass. Meanwhile i was eating their damage and died. Felt like standing between people throwing a ball over you and you can't catch it. Also my ADC likes to run away from me as fast as possible (flash over wall where nobody is) instead in my direction, having some assassin chase easily and making it impossible for me to peel. Third problem i have is teammates (supports etc.) hovering around multiple half health enemies and re-engaging when im nearby but have no ults or ghouls ready, being confused why i ping them back and not helping them.

I'm doing something wrong with yorick in gold but i don't know exactly what. Most meta matchups come out of lane ahead in gold due to zoning (Jax, Tryn, Irelia, Shen, etc.). Midgame they pick off my team 1 by 1 while i try to get a CS lead and split. Meanwhile most champs can escape W easily and i won't ever kill them if they are careful. One mid or jungler is enough to halt my split if im not super ahead. I can never catch up to my team mates in time due to everyone dashing all over the place.
