What do words mean? What does it mean when we say, "I'm a Christian"? Communications professor, author, and podcast host Heather Thompson Day joins Sadie to talk all things communication: how important it is in EVERY facet of our lives, why it's so important to define our terms when we're in conversation, and how we can live EACH day with purpose. Sadie and Heather share advice for anyone who knows they need to end a bad relationship. Plus, they dive in to intention with social media - what are you REALLY wanting? A relationship or adoration? And are you training yourself in narcissism? They also get into why Michael Jordan is a great example for how we should be living each day. Show up! You'll want to take notes for this one!

Quotes I loved: 1:40 When it comes to marriage, if you get that one aspect of your life right, everything in your life can go wrong and none of it will matter. If you get that one aspect of your life wrong, everything else could go right and none of it will matter. 18:55 Never say you can't and just say you are not interested.

hey sadie i had to respond to an accident monday night and two of my friends were in it so pray for them because it was pretty bad.they drifted off the road and hit an embankment head on and rolled over on its passenger side.we pulled the driver which is one of my friends out the drivers side door and the other one we had to have the rescue squad cut her out of the vehicle.both were hurt and he was flown out so pray for them and for me as a first responder too.

Solid! That is the perfect explanation of narcissism! They can’t receive love, and are often even repulsed by it! They just want to be worshiped, a.k.a. the devil

This video was a pivotal point for me. I was with my ex-husband (back then boyfriend maybe) for over 6-7 years. I watched this video and I was shocked because I always avoided christian videos about couples because I was thinking “they don’t understand our relationship is too different, but God will bring him to salvation!” So I played this video to avoid any christian relationship stuff. And then the girl in the beginning said her story, huge fear came over me. I felt horrible - I was like, what if after all I am in the wrong and this man and this relationship isn’t for me? We loved each other, we lived 3200km away and we had so much planned for the future. We were honest about everything and always tried to do everything together, visit each other etc. but he wasn’t fully christian. He accepted God but he was simply lukewarm. He wouldn’t read the Bible on his own or take any proper step towards God and it was killing me because we had already had sex before marriage. God says that if man and a woman lay together they become one flesh (or married in a way) so I always thought that since me and him will get married it will be fine and that in God’s eyes we’re technically already married. But anyway I watched the vid and I cried a lot. I spoke to him about it, spoke to my mum. I just was so unsure. Then I prayed. And I asked God if this isn’t His plan then I prayed God makes him leave me one way or another because 1 Corinthians 7 says if the non-believer decides to leaver let him leave. And our relationship/marriage went downhill (bc we did get married eventually but that’s a whole another story). It went so bad and eventually my husband said he wanted to get divorced “just because”. Just because he wants to be on his own rn. And I was like 😐 what? For 7 years we’ve had endless arguments and we’ve overcame everything and now he wants to leave? I was in pain but I said it be God’s will not mine. I knew God will help me either way. And anyway he left and I was so scared because I thought no one would love me again the way he did - no one wohld be as loyal as him etc etc but I’m sure God will find me MY husband which will truly be a man of God. So yeah, this video played a huge part in my life coz idk if I would’ve truly prayed this without this vid. And throughout the entire time, at every step I was thinking of this vid. That’s for more than a year maybe. Thank you guys.

Thank you for this podcast! So true I prayed to God saying if this guy I’m with currently if it is your will that we will be together make it happen in your time. And years later we are together and he has been going to church with me and learning so much. And his family and mine are getting along well. Please keep praying for us

100% can learn communication if you have the desire. And who doesn’t have the desire to be heard better ~ it’s how we progress. Communication was one of my weakest points and now is definitely a strength I am proud of but am continually working on and I am pretty sure I will work on my whole life. If you make it your growth your goal you will be revealed constant great examples of phenomenal communicators in your life and they’re modelling it to you is the first step 🎉

I am 42 and I was single for 10 years before I met my now husband. Years ago I prayed and asked God if it was His will for me to be single to give me a feeling of contentment that surpasses all understanding. And He did just that. And we lost my precious dad this past Jan and I remember asking God to pls bring something good out of this. And wow just 3 months later I met the most amazing, precious, Godly, caring man. And instantly I knew he was my soulmate. I am so thankful I obey God and waited on Him to bring my Husband. This podcast was amazing and I learned so much.

God loves u all sm God bless any prayer requests or any questions? God sent his only son to die for u so live for Him (not trying to force) Gods got u and is in ur corner always, fighting for u, and the best way for u to fight is on your knees, praying. Start with journaling, prayer, worship, turn off bad music, verses, living like the fruit of the spirit each day. Nobody is perfect except Jesus. Its okay to make mistakes, we all do. Feel free to reach out nd talk for anything. ask God for wisdom in every situation. God loves u and so do i. Have a blessed day friend. Some of my fav verses: Matthew 19:26, John 3:16, Isaiah 30:21. Anyone heard her on the Saved By The City podcast? She talked about how she was proud to have helped an unmarried couple hookup and how they were now having a child together out of wedlock. The amount of godlessness in some of her discussions makes it hard for me to believe her profession of faith is real.

I agree that there's value in "weak ties" but they're also quite unfulfilling if one rarely or never has meaningful deep conversations with committed friends, etc. Also, why are you advertising for Opera? She has her own religion and does not believe in the true Gospel. "Ora" is from middle-eastern religion that worships false gods. I do not think that you should be promoting her products. Overall, really enjoyed the podcast.

Here is some biblical constructive criticism. In stead of a watered down feel good pat on the back christianity approach why don't you get serious about what's said. Why not discuss the wages of sin being death, deliverance for the unregenerate, the process of justification or sanctification or glorification. Why tell folks there heading towards hell without the Lord and saviour Jesus front and center in their lives. Why not tell folks that a single non existent prayer dosen't save them, emotional response to a rock concert at church won't save them or a false alter call, tell them it's a complete transformation to gain salvation. Tell them there is no co existing with the fallen world to promote God's word or agenda. Tell them the seriousness of denying the cross! Tell them picking and choosing what scripture to follow to suit their unregenerate lifestyle is heresy. And finally remind them God won't be mocked, He is not a ginnie in a bottle you rub to get money or the perfect marriage or job or self asteem ect ect ect. There is no wokeness in scripture, there is no feel good hug yourself in scripture, salvation is for the serious like Paul or David...get serious about God this isn't play time with feel good story hour!
