Sensible video and well explained....hope EV users will atleast understand how they are supposed to ride an EV. People buy EV and ride like an ICE and then keep crying about low range But somehow I feel your S1 with 100% charge must show range of 133 in Eco Mode and range of 105-106 in Normal Mode Also, if you ride single person and keep speed in range of 35-45 kmph with forced regen, you can even get a range of 120+ in single day ride

Actually all Ola S1 shows 128 km in eco mode and 102 km in normal mode at full charge , and it gives me 90-95 km of true range because most of the time I ride in Normal mode .

Not at all. Motor will be getting heated when you drive in Sports/Hyper mode. In regen technology, power to motor will be stopped and scooter gets speed slow down because of inertia. Regen technology this opposite action to act motor as small generator and battery gets low charge. If you generally drive in normal mode, then always keep REGN in HIGH mode, then there is no need of using break (except in sudden/emergency) at most of the time. This will save break pads also. I am practically getting a milage of 92 to 95 most of the time in Normal mode with High regen.

You have not mentioned one style of driving an EV. If you have travelled in local trains, you would know that they make humming sound during acceleration and deceleration. In the middle, you must have heard a sound of the power getting cut off....and the train continues to roll on the tracks, until its time to start braking. This time period is called coasting. Coasting does not use power from the battery but the vehicle can roll a few hundred metres only on inertia of motion. If we drive an EV using inertia of motion by keeping regen at lowest setting (mostly for highway runs) then range can improve significantly due to the energy conserved during coasting. Try this on your own S1 and let me know the energy efficiency of your vehicle after using this style of driving.

Yes you are right and I also used this technique but eventually the results came out was unsatisfied as compared with use of heigh regen because I had to use breaks in case of speed breakers, bumps and during overtaking instead of regenerative breaking . Thank you for sharing your knowledge.

If you will drive it like a normal bike , then it will definitely give you less range . But you have to get familiar with it for good range , and 10-15km range will drop in any ev due to energy loss

I think hyper mode is so powerful and it consumes a lot of battery so you need to use it as less as possible . You can use it on empty roads or highways ( be safe )

Eco mode is not usable at all with a pillion zero. The battery is getting hot with sport and hyper and will switch to eco mode you will get stuck on the road. In ather these problems are not there
