Many thanks Maestro Jose, very important information, what you share with us 👍🏽 After more than 23 years playing guitar, last year I have started with fix daily exercises. Especially I could improve tremolo and special flamenco arpeggios!

Wow man this is awesome sharing! My hands feel so good after this lesson! The excercises helped me to remove some tension in the wrists and palms and move my hands easier with the guitar. Thank you Master!

Tanaka please, tell me, when I decide to make a schedule I feel overwhelmed by the number of techniques and things I need to learn (compàs, falsetas) as well as fingerstyle songs since I'm a big fan of travis-picking.. So what would you recommend? Should I practice the techniques integrating them in compàs or seperately? So that I could have time to practice a falseta and a fingerstyle song as well. I can afford 2 hours a day .. but I'm not an organized person that's why I feel really stressed around schedules.. If you could advise me, please, don't hesitate. I'm really LOST!

I grind technique in isolation until I've delegated "thinking" to my hands and fingers. The compás subsequence transitions (e.g. 12, 3, 6/7, 10 in Soleá or Bulería) are difficult because accenting may involve effects that require adjustments to hand posture when you have to prepare for a flicked rasgueado or an awkward golpe, so they must ultimately be practiced in context of the flow of the compás. But I don't do that until I'm comfortable executing the techniques in isolation. I think of it a bit like this: The general problem is freeing yourself from thinking consciously about what your hands are doing. You want to get to a space where your mind can focus solely on planning what you want to communicate, and project intent onto your body to then execute. If you like car analogies (I don't, so apologies) it's akin to thinking "I want to turn right from that crossroads, but I must mind the pedestrian crossing the street" instead of "Activate clutch, depress brake pedal until car stops, observe the pedestrian has crossed the street, move foot to the gas pedal, slowly release the clutch while gradually depressing the gas pedal, depress clutch and switch to gear 2, release clutch and increase gas, turn the wheel ..." etc.. You don't want to think about the details while driving, and I wouldn't want to drive in traffic where someone else was doing just that, because I know a huge chunk of their mental resources is used up for mere mechanics of driving when they should be used for adjusting to the flow of traffic and awareness. Also, as a general rule - and I always say this - if you're a beginner then it's in your best interests to forget about music altogether. If you don't know the instrument at all, don't even approach it as a guitar and the end product as music. The instrument is just a game to beat, a game with arduous preparations but simple mechanics, and clear winning conditions. The game is to master all the fundamental techniques at their most elementary level, in isolation and in succession. The game is learning the body awareness that enables your fingers to find the strings (interface) and on success produce the desired sound (interact). That's how I began practicing picking, p-ima combinations, going from alternating p-i to arpeggios, to double arpeggios, to tremolo, to string-switching tremolo (in this particular order of increasing difficulty). I've spent hours upon hours on just running up and down the strings in any and all possible combinations, creating increasingly confusing sequences trying to surprise myself if I ever get too comfortable with a certain drill. When it becomes easy I make it more deliberately more difficult. Other people in your household will be driven crazy by such practice regimens but if you can make it a game with narrow focus and clear objectives and obsess (in a healthy way) over perfecting the most minute details, the most basic mechanics, then you will eventually reach a point where practice becomes a non-problem. Because the awareness you're developing and the mindfulness you're exercising will become so deeply integrated into your relationship with the instrument that each time you pick it up you're always learning and projecting intent. My apologies if my advice sounded patronizing, I don't know your level, but I hope it's useful to somebody, somewhere, at some point in time!
