A great video, the only thing I want to talk about is the auto salvage: It's true that the amount you will get by picking this early is not going to be super impactful, however it will speed up your inventory management and reduce ground clutter, thus saving you time. Especially for those who are not in the habit of leaving loot behind.

One thing to take into consideration, is that using the cache at the beginning will not only speed up your leveling process to 70, but allow you to farm at a much higher difficulty once you are 70, due to the potential legendary powers you get from the start. Say for necromancers, you might have Grasp of Essence or a Bloodtide Blade, making your progression from 70 to fully geared much faster as well. You can then use your weekend blasting rifts, 1-2 minute GRs and bounties to get your gear and the ingredients for the rest of the Altar, and start blasting for Paragons on monday/tuesday when you finish the Altar. You should be ahead in DPS, allowing you to join more dedicated XP groups for faster XP, if you care about paragon farming efficiency.

My mates & I are saving the cache since we play hard the first weekend in particular. So instead we are doing split bounties while levelling to offset the loss of power at 70, so we get 2 pc & 4pc haedrigs gift super quick.

Raxx has a very different take on this and after watching both videos, I think you guys should agree that it comes down to the player and their expectations/play styles/goals. If you want to level to 70 FAST, then using the cache is a no-brainer. You can get from 1-70 in ~30 minutes using the cache b/c it gives you the materials needed to make level 70 gear to pair with the no item requirement node. However, if you want to unlock the tree as fast as humanly possible, you'd save the cache. This is especially true if you have someone willing to PL you. It should be noted that if you use the cache, you'll only be waiting 2 days for it to reset. When choosing to use the cache, this puts you in a position where you can't progress past that sacrifice but you CAN still farm up the materials for the other sacrifices, including the staff of herding (which is inarguably the hardest part of the tree). Instead of saying "You should/shouldn't use the cache" I feel it's important to acknowledge the pros and cons of each decision and let the player ultimately decide which is the best fit. Personally, I'll be using the cache. I want to hit 70 fast and help people out. Waiting 2 days to get past that hump seems a trivial amount of time and in that time I'm going to make it a point to farm up the other stuff. Just my 2 cents.

Keep also in Mind. If you use your Cach, you prob. already end up with a Multiplier, so that the gearing Process at lvl 70 and getting your Set / Build started, is also way smoother. This is esp. important for those, who are playing solo or are not under the top Players.

I'm on Raxx's side here...most of us aren't playing enough the first weekend to really be hampered by it. And Raxx's 30 min leveling will probably take me over an hour, where without the cache I expect it to be 4 hours. Plus, I expect a lot of streamers will simply have someone use an alt account and level in a group anyways.

I'm with Raxx in that you can get the best things with using the cache and sacrificing it the next week. It's not going to be easy for many to get the higher tier things. you can farm while you wait and unlock everything on monday after a new challenge rift comes out

IMHO the most important node is the Auto Salvage node. It will make every activity, other than greater rifts, go so much faster. I'm making it my 8th node, extra progress orbs my 10th and grabbing Kadala 12th. (Most of my early blood shards will be sacrificed on the altar anyway)

you can also at level 1 do act 2 bounty on torment 1 for 1 deathbreath reward from cache. save the cache from the weekly event and still get you blacksmith leveled

If you are a more casual player and do not intend to do more than the required GR110 for 1600 shard turn in or intend playing many Alts you need more salvage mats and DB's for rolling items or upgrading in the cube, therefore depends what your goals are for the season.

i have 2 accounts and i have tried to craft lvl 70 items for my main with the "no item lvl req" tier unlocked on my second account. the items still remain lvl 70 for everyone that doesnt have the unlock tier in the tree! u can still craft a lvl reduce weapon for your other account or friends if you are lucky!

pick up items is better than db's since they never take up inventory space anyway. My tree plan is full right side to get as much elite damage as possible and reach double kadala the fastest, double bounties don't really help me do the 60-70-80 rifts solo, i'll just challenge rift bag (15 bounty materials ahead anyway) as I doubt i can solo 80 before i'd get the next one anyway and the 2nd half that is locked doesn't seem all that enticing anyway

It's the same as it always has been, you just go massacre bonus or do rifts and use the gear that drops naturally. The whole debate here is delayed gratification, because for 99% of the playerbase they should just use it and then get the rest of the tree monday, but for those who truly want to blast and are planning to do so in groups aren't going to miss 1 or 2 hours of progress by leveling slower when it will be made up when the people who leveled faster go to bed in the first night

90%+ of players shouldn't save the challenge cache imo. The only thing you are missing is a few GR tiers of damage and toughness, which should be irrelevant unless GR pushing for the leaderboard. Which casuals are not doing anyways, especially on season starts.

It's also unclear whether casual players can even unlock up to #15 during the first weekend. I'm looking at the Ramaladni's Gift/Petrified Scream and remembering that as a casual player I generally won't find one of those for a few days, at least until I get to the GR speed-farming time. Also, 40 of each bounty material and a whole bunch of forgotten souls is a massive pain to get. As a leaderboard pusher, you're going to lose a significant amount of time if you plan to unlock some of the seals (20 GR keys, 100 bounty materials, tons of blood shards, staff of herding). If you spend that extra time farming rifts instead, would you really lose anything?

@@1987jjl You will be behind as a gr pusher if you don't complete most of the tree, as the toughness and damage it provides is definitely worth the time invested, spending an hour or two doing some bounties and staff of herding farming is worth it, which if you are already in the top % of pushing for grs then you aren't farming slow and know what you are doing so the time "loss" is significantly less than what a more casual player would see imo

Food for thought: what if at first gr70 clear you get a perfect primal weapon for your build, do you still break it to get the 1st potion? IMO: yes, especially because you can craft another perf weapon later on. Harder for dual wielding builds in this case, but still worth paying for free pylons every 30s.

No way, you'll get another. Most of the primals I found last season were junk. If I found one with good stats, I'd keep it and wait for the next one. By that time, you're going to be blasting rifts like crazy and it won't be that long until another one drops.

It shortens the time of speedruns by a lot, it's insane. Unless you get lucky getting that ancient puzzle ring to sacrifice is going to be a PITA and without holiday gifts giving up mats double bounties could come in handy. 44 Act mats with double bounties is 8 re-rolls.

If you are not a blaster (not necessary a casual who just presses button casually, but simply a dude like me who doesn't play 10 hours a day), you should open the cache immediately "as usual", by the time you'll reach the point you have to sacrifice a cache, the new challenge rift will be out and in the meantime you can farm the other stuff for the other sacrifices past that point and/or progress through the usual journey steps. I will open my cache immediately with no regrets, i don't even know if i'll manage to unlock the first 14 nodes before the new CR comes out (I play 60 to 90 minutes per day and not even all days).

Yellow crafted items can be shared, they're not account bound. With the CR cache you can craft a full set of yellows and give to a friend.

Auto pickup is also useful for the Vault, and if you're lucky enough to get goblin packs (or Blues) while key farming. And with a few clanmates you'll hopefully be sharing puzzle rings early on. It's just making sure your mates have it as well - especially the slow poke who has to pick up everything and/or has to be careful what they click on when picking up legendaries, because… _they don't keep their inventory lean._ "Town Portalling again?… FFS" So I'll be #8 auto-salvage, and leave passability to later, post cache - it's not that important when you're killing everything at T16. Then auto pick up DB's maybe as #12 and leave the extra boss damage for a bit later as well. Then run a lot of key farming (once I've gotten my Hadric's) so I have the keys and crafting materials to do a big GR push later, just get GR70 early for unlocking primals (which should be easy even without the various bonus damages) and getting Boon of the Horder up to 25 and hopefully *goldwrap.* If goldwrap doesn't drop then lots of Bounties for upgrade legendary mats and swearing at a lot of useless legendary belts in the loot pool. So by the time I've sacrificed the next cache I'll have enough keys to just blast GR's non stop in long sessions and hopefully get some really good gear and more primals. But until node #15, just farming and laying the prep work, so Quality of Life nodes would help with that, picking up stuff *when* it's _still vital_ and in short supply - and you want to be farming fast. As you can probably guess, I'm already in training for "too much caffeine" during the early sessions. … and the next morning.

Im so glad your sticking to your initial idea of keeping the Cache because most of the other Nephalubers are telling everyone to use it at the start. It makes no sense to me why anyone would want to hold themselves back for at least 2 days just to save a couple of hours getting to 70. 2hrs vs 2 days, its a no brainer, even for us casuals. I have been laughed at and even called names on other channels for saying this, for daring to disagree with the creators of those channels but I stick to what I am saying...keep your cache because by the time Monday comes you will already be past the 14th node anyway.

It depends on how you play. Like you said even for casuals, well for a lot of them they won't reach node 15 before Monday. There are a lot of people who don't get a scream or ramallamadingdong for a while. And for them levelling normally takes way longer so they save more time. And then there is preference as well. I could get to the node by then but I might not and I really don't want to do cache-less levelling now. And even if I get all the other stuff I wouldn't be bottlenecked for long and just wait a bit for the node. Not like you only start getting good stuff by 15. But it is quite easy to determine which is the best path per person

I'm just glad he is not saying that everyone SHOULD use it right away, unlike other youtubers. He is letting players know that keeping it is a good option too but like you said it just depends. Ppl need to make their own choices and stop always just doing what the "experts" tell them. It's your game, play it your way.

FInally a season where i'm forced to lvl without challange cache it's gonna be a more FUN and longer gameplay this season for me i love it blizzard should even forbid the haedrig gift so the progression is not like 10 minutes but at least week or 2 :D till you gather your best gear what i really dislike about diablo 3 is that i hit lvl 70 in like 2-3 hours after season starts solo then i speed run haedrig gift and just go straight to t16 and farming 90-95 like 2 days into season i'm already at 110 GRS and i'm playing SOLO now imagine that group players are doing what i do in few hours after season starts.. like this is incredible dull and boring progression for a RPG game
