10:08 The elephants foot is (by far) not the most radioactive object inside the basement. There are two objects called "The Heap" and "The China Syndrome" that are about two times as radioactive as the Elephants foot. That Chernobyl Guy did a video about them. The EP is just *the most famous* high radiation object in the building.

Bolivian here. Nope, although Death Road is still there, it's been replaced by a new, proper road since 2002. So the death toll has dropped to almost zero. Almost, because tourists come to do downhill biking here now, and unfortunately from time to time some cyclist gets too eager to get to the bottom. Still, going from 200+ deaths a year to one every two or three years is quite the drop... No pun intended.

4:36 Close, but not quite right. Lake Natron is named for the latin word for salt (think Na in the periodic table), and it gets it's colour from extremophile bacteria that thrive when the lake is low on water. Atlas Pro did a video about it.

When you mentioned the Strid I, a local of Niagara Falls, was going to be like "yah you don't fuck with the Strid, that thing's less survivable than going over Niagara Falls" and then you said that too. As unbelievably unsafe as going over Niagara falls is, it is decisively a higher chance of survival than going into the Strid is. But, I mean, ultimately, I think I speak for the semi-sane in this world in saying I chose to do neither... Also, a fact that often gets left out about the Sentinelese is that they have not *always* been hostile to outsiders. Early in the 20th century there were a few expeditions out to meet them where they were quite friendly, though everyone needs to remember this is a group of people who've had almost no interaction with the outside world - and we've had almost no interaction with them - there is no common language or symbols or anything to use to for communication. After those first expeditions, the Sentinelese population plummeted and - given what we know from other "meeting of the worlds" events in history - it's likely because the expeditions brought foreign diseases to the island that they had no immunity to. But we can't apologize or explain what happened because we can't talk to them - and we don't know what they think happened because we can't talk to them (they may think we cursed them or somehow tried to attack them, or maybe they think they are the last place on Earth free of some evil disease and the rest of the world is just an apocalyptic wasteland...we don't know, all we know is that now they act extremely hostile to and afraid of outsiders). This is likely why so many who have gone to the island have been killed, especially as subsequent missionary expeditions likely brought new diseases to the island - they likely associate the mere presence of outsiders with death. Personally, I think the Christian missionary groups who have been irresponsibly sending people to that island with essentially no training (including even the basics like that you have to be careful not to introduce diseases and that you won't actually be able to speak to them because you don't know their language) and getting the missionaries and the Sentinelese killed in the process need to start being charged. I have no problem with Christianity but the whole set up they've done a few times now is obviously incredibly negligent and unhelpful and I am sure any Christians who *actually* care about being at least somewhat responsible would agree.
