Most multinational companies do allow such facilities. But, they all mostly offer such services to employees at managerial levels or above. If you are lower than that you are not allowed to leave during fire drills.

I worked as an HR intern in Airtel 2yrs back, all the Hrs do is chill, eat chips, gossip, bitch, fashion policing for 2/3 of the day and the other 1/3 part, make arrangements for the stay of their CEO or some other higher level member/client, all the while keeping a show of sophistication and the South Delhi wala accent while acting on a drama called "interview" in between (they will hire them anyway because of internal references, while no body of this world would know about these so called vacancies

Buddy, I've worked as a HR professional for nearly ten years. Let me tell you the challenges we HR's have to face regularly. To start with, who does the dirty job of recruitment? It's the HR. Who puts up with the tantrums of the hiring managers and dances to all their tunes regarding their skill fitment, salary range blah blah blah? Who has to do the unpleasant negotiating job between the candidate and the business? Who gets bambooed up their asses when candidates don't join/ abscond suddenly? Are you even of what is "manpower planning"? Have u ever worked in recruitment? Who ensures that the business gets the best and the most perfect talent and that too constantly? Do u even have an idea how a job description (JD) is created? Do you even have a guess as to how much work goes in creating the offer letters of each candidate after getting the approvals from multiple stakeholders? Are you aware how difficult it is to replace a candidate who has not joined or absconded from work suddenly? Do u know how difficult it is to keep the employees happy while ensuring at the SAME time that the business is not compromised? Do u have a clue how much emotions of ours are at play when we address employee grievances and disputes between the managers and employees? Are you aware of how HR's are taken for granted by the core business teams and the managements of companies? AND, after we slog our everything for you'll, WTF do we get in return? Comments one after the other- "Oh HR's the time pass department" "HR's have got the most chilled out life" "HR can do anything rhey want and they are highly arrogant and powerful lot" yaa right, my freaking foot😠😠😠 the plight of HR's reminds me of the dialogue said in the climax of Singham to Ajay Devgan by the comedian "all other people enjoy festivals and celebrate life, but the police department is THE only one who doesnt have that luxury. Cops are always expected to be on duty. They are not eligible for any holidays. And after all that the benefits they get is so crappy" that is precisely what the fate of HR's too! Only thing that we don't possess is the uniform. Everything else remains the same. I'm Proud to be a HR🙏🙏🙏
