How does this relate to discernment Boris. Like taste for example. Do my thoughts about whether something tastes good or bad influence that sensation. What you're saying is that every thing is neutral and it's just my thoughts about it that make it good or bad, better or worse. What's Shakespeare's quote "there is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so ".

A taste that makes your body throw up and a taste that makes your body wiggle with satisfaction are both neutral. You can still choose the one you are attracted to! The judgement is an additional thing that is added and as a result, if you believe in your judgement of good or bad, or if you take your own preferences very seriously, you will create resistance and strain in your mind and body which will manifest as an experience of suffering.
