I miss OreGairu a lot. This is one of those shows that you are attached even after watching it. I sometimes play it in the background when I work. I hope they will make a movie or OVAs so that we can spend more time with the characters. OreGairu is also one of the anime where the way characters speak Japanese is sometimes important (Hachiman making fun of the way Iroha speaks etc.) So if you want to learn Japanese with me, I can send you some Japanese lessons where I teach you the kind of Japanese that Japanese people actually speak. Yukino's way of speaking is probably due to her family background which is a very upper-class household that emphasizes on old school manners. Her mom even wears kimono regularly. The amount of restraint that is being put on Yukino's shoulders is actually a big part of the story.

Let's all just say it like it is. Yukino speaks like that because she's a broken person with a fucked up childhood development period. Lol She needs help like most of the characters in this god damn show.
@nviolet1523 жыл бұрын
@@chbuki Maybe it's your childhood that's fucked up? Help yourself and leave other people out of your stupid delusions. There's nothing wrong with being smart, strong and socially independent. It's within person's interests to be mentally strong. The benefits of your so called "normal childhood" are pathetic in comparison with mental strength that both Hachiman and Yukino show throughout the story. Just like Hachiman stated in the beginning of season 1, group doesn't benefit individuum at the bottom of pyramid enough. Trying to fit only makes sense if you have high social skills and thus you can benefit from participating.

So I recently, when I was reading Manga, (kanajo, okarishimasu in particular) I was curious what the original Japanese was when I read the english. So had I the raw Manga and was looking at that next to the English one. I found the Japanese to be interesting since the English translations often takes quite a bit of liberty changing the structure or complete sentences/words. Removing a lot of the implicit nuance of the original Japanese dialogue. Also if you want to read Manga in Japanese, it's pretty easy, even if you're still a novice because all popular Manga has furigana
@AnimeCommander14 жыл бұрын
JP to ENG translator here. Because of how Japanese grammar is structured, it is better to not follow the Japanese sentence structure too heavily, or the English translation will look unnatural. In addition, a lot of Japanese expressions are not common sayings in English, so it is often better to use an alternative phrase which is common in English. If there isn't one that has the closest equivalent, we may need to translate it literally.

She was able to speak because of human vocal mechanism. It could be divided into three parts; the lungs, the vocal folds within the larynx and the articulators. The lungs, the "pump" must produce adequate airflow and air pressure to vibrate vocal folds. The vocal folds (vocal cords) then vibrate to use airflow from the lungs to create audible pulses that form the laryngeal sound source. The muscles of the larynx adjust the length and tension of the vocal folds to ‘fine-tune’ pitch and tone. The articulators (the parts of the vocal tract above the larynx consisting of tongue, palate, cheek, lips, etc.) articulate and filter the sound emanating from the larynx and to some degree can interact with the laryngeal airflow to strengthen or weaken it as a sound source. The reason why she was able to speak japanese is that she probably either a japanese herself, have lived or are currently living in japan, exposure to japanese language or she picked an interest in japanese language.

Japanese seems to have SO many nuances. Call a teacher '-san' instead of '-sensei' and you're being rude...call someone your age or lower '-san' it makes you seem distant (instead of 'chan' or 'kun'). By the same token, using a name without an honorific is too casual. I legit went to Japan and the place I ate at had amazing food but the chef told me I was being too polite and I AM TOTALLY LOST.
