Make sure you switch the signal field (upper right side of the EVOC interface) from "Syn" to "Voc" . This step was not shown explicitly and is key to a good final result.

Awesome tutorial. I to thought that clicking clock sound was a clock until Zedd was talking with someone on twitter and they said it’s a blinker to a car (thus meet me in the middle)
@imamusicmogul6 жыл бұрын
That’s actually cool to know. I feel like he also added a snap to it though.

Unless it’s just a pitched down version of a car blinker. Interesting use of real life sounds thoigh
@paul_nthny6 жыл бұрын
No, Grey said in their IG stories that the slow ticking in the first verse is the car blinker. The one in the chorus is a sped up version of it layered with Zedd's clock sample that he has been using since Hourglass

Hey musicmogul!! Thanks for the info!! There is one other technique on this track I can’t put my finger on, could you help explain?? It starts at about 0:48 of the track. it sounds like a background vocal. For example...The middle (the middle) following right after. It sounds like either a mixed pitched vocal or some type of synth in the same key as the vocal. Can you explain??

This sounds awful and muddy. Why the hell would you feed a poly input into a vocoder.....
@BenRunyan5 жыл бұрын
@@theforevermachine I agree with your assessment.
@ale95075 жыл бұрын
Vocoders are supposed to have chords inputted into them. I'm not quite sure what you're saying. The reason it's muddy is because he selected the incorrect synth. If he used a saw, and put it through a lot of processing, like saturation, he could've achieved the original result. Single note inputs in vocoders are really boring.

Useful tutorial for a vocal. Your chords are really wrong though. Can we try and work out the correct sequence?

Great video. Great tutorial. However you did use the wrong chords on the vocoder. Doesn't quite sound like what Zedd is doing.

The theory is correct but the chords fed into the vocoder are significantly and noticeably wrong which detracts from the overall effect.

Axa One tbh without zee this song wouldn’t have been relaeased, if you look at the backstory zedd was the one that kept working on the song and finding people to sing on the track when grey and all the other people behind this song gave up, so I guess he is the main artist in this song.

Zedd did the vocals part alone for sure coz he is the best in that, same style on the song stay too.
