Amanush(1975) ke gaane bahut achcha tha. The music director of this super musical film was eminent Bengali singer and music director Shyamal Mitra. It's a fact that voice of great singer Rafi Sahab lacked of sophistication, though he was a trained raga singer. But, Kishore Kumar could reach the depth of the word of any literally rich number easily. Kishore Kumar's voice was full of sophistication. So, the voice of Kishore Kumar is simply the very best.

It was not the Film Anand . It was Sangam made by Rajkapoor.where Rajkapoor wanted Uttam Kumar should act in that film ( Finally Rajendra Kumar had acted in that film when Uttam Kumar had refused to act ).

Some corrections: ANAND came in 1970 CHHOTI SI MULAKAT in 1967. So it is not possible for UTTAM to refuse a role in Anand. It is true that UTTAM KUMAR was victimized by Bollywood clan, and as I remember reading in an article where it was mentioned that Raj Kapoor did some dirty politics and obstacles indirectly, and even Vaijayantimala used to take hours spending in her Van preparing for shots 'deliberately', so that the filming was not completed on time and Uttam suffered immense monetary loss in making the film..... I can not vouch for what I just have written... And I shall accept my mistake if I am proved wrong. In fact I would say the dance quality of Uttam was far better than any other bollywood male actors, including Shammi Kapoor... It was authentic Twist Dance where Uttam was extremely elegant.... The bollywood Wale were feeling threatened by his entry, and they did everything to make it a flop .. the cinema halls were asked not to allow showing the film ..... All are hearsay....but I can believe these are possible.

One, Uttam Kumar was far more suitable for the title role in Anand than the other role, of Bhaskar. If anything, the better choice for Bhaskar was Saumitra Chatterjee. This would have been a brilliant casting. But much more importantly, the previous foray of Uttam Kumar, Chhoti Si Mulaqat, was an awful remake of the original sensitively made Bengali film, Agnipariksha. For one, the Hindi version did an about turn on everything of the original and made the remake horribly wrong. That was the chief reason it was disliked by the audience. Another huge factor was the unfortunate choice made for Uttam Kumar to seemingly copy the very successful Hindi hero Shammi Kapoor, instead of retaining his own charming style. This didn’t work, and audience wondered why they made Uttam Kumar do this, instead of taking the original Shammi Kapoor or someone similarly more suitable for the mindless Eve teasing hero. Agnipariksha on the other hand was very sensitive, with excellent performances as usual by the golden pair of Bengali films Uttam Kumar and Suchitra Sen, set in the courteous westernised cultured upper class of urban Bengal set against the traditional rural Bengal and its very Indian traditional norms. The discussion regarding the dilemma which the woman faced was deep, instead of the shallow hamfisted imposition used in the Hindi version. Chhoti Si Mulaqat deserved to fail. Uttam Kumar didn’t.

Bollywood didn't let Uttam down. It was Uttam himself. He didn't have the conviction to carry off a character like Rajesh Khanna could, in Anand. He shouldn't have been led by naysayers or critics.
