Now that made perfect sense! Howard has a voice that would thrive in a heavier environment, but he tells me he isn't a fan of that genre. But here there's just enough bite in the guitars and arrangement to support the elevated tone of Howard's impressive voice. I loved when I could hear Sarah's voice too, but she seemed a little quiet in the mix. Either that or Howard was just demanding all of my attention. Listening again, the structure of the song is really nice, with lots of light and shade and it quickly grows on the ear. I'd love to hear something heavier, like Queen perhaps? I think Howard is one of the few singers out there who could compete with Freddie. Howard says he is influenced by Robert Plant, so I'd settle for a Jimmy Page level of heavy! But as things stand I'd have to say my loyalties in the ongoing competition (which I hesitate to mention) are now split! So many great singers have made it through, and all I can say is may the best singer win! On all the evidence Howard is a major contender at this point.

Wow, this is so good. I would buy an album of Howards in a heartbeat. The Band is awesome, very tight but not mechanical, so much colour. When his voice kicks in at 3.00 it makes me shiver.
