Scott pours out his heart on the passing of his brother, his Mother's addiction past and the devistating break-up with his wife all within about 2 minutes where douche bag Stern bulldozes him, I'm quite shocked Scott just didn't say - change subject or whatever. He tried to speak honestly about everything even while getting railed. Class act and so open minded, patient, forgiving. Respect.

I wish Scott could’ve gotten some PR training in how to handle inappropriate interviewers. eg ‘I’d be thrilled to finish answering your question’…. Stern is very verbally impulsive and can’t even ‘zip it’ long enough to let people finish answering a question. I notice Stern often tries to finish people’s answers but he’s often wrong… 😆

I watched a couple interviews with Scott yesterday and something that struck me is his incredible charity was his second blessing/curse. No matter how acrimonious things got in private he refuses to throw his ex, family, or ex bandmates under the bus no matter how hard the interviewer goads him to do so. There’s clearly a lot unsaid. He doesn’t strike back when the interviewer gets hostile or interrupts. He gives the facts, summarizes both sides of the issue, and just pushes on. On the one hand, this was good marketing and allowed him to keep good relationships even as his own behavior went beyond the pail. Other than his first ex nobody has a single bad thing to say about him. But man… his inability to stick up for himself and say no to people was likely a major contributing factor to how far he spiraled.

When Scott spoke of ADHD I completely empathised with him, as a child I was exactly the same, it's got nothing do with how you're raised (my sisters are 'normal') it's how your brain is wired, people like us are super sensitive and usually very intelligent, our brains just run faster that's all, we have a low boredom threshold and tend to seek out either big thrills sadly sometimes turn to drugs or alcohol to slow things down a little. Some people call us addicts but that's such a dismissive word, we can't help how we are, we are usually creative, bright witted, loving and a joy to be around because of our positive outgoing nature, we would do anything for anyone and are best surrounded by like minded souls who are the same as ourselves, the flip side is introverted side, the darkness that sometimes tries it's best to take us, those days are hard, we have to fight to keep going and that takes strength and a good network around us, we cannot isolate ourselves during that cycle as the pain of living will get too much, there is indeed a self centered edge to us. Normal brains will never understand us, I call it the poisoned chalice, I don't want a normal steady brain as I love who I am as a person yet sometimes I'd love the peace that seems to come with it normality, my son has inherited it all too, he was a nightmare for his teachers to contain at school, yet he gained a first class degree at uni, as his mum I understood how to handle his brain, and help him With his homework. Drugging us as kids just makes it easier for teachers who want nice calm quiet kids, my dream would be to open a school for kids like us, a place we could fidget and have a jiggly leg to concentrate without getting told off constantly, a place where we didn't have to sit still in a desk all day which is torture for the small attention span!!! A place where the musicians and artists and creators among the population could thrive on our gifts and not be forced to sit through subjects we will never use. If only they knew how clever we are schools wouldn't write us off and we wouldn't loathe the education system. How sad people like Scott have to die from heroin when he could have been helped as a kid to find alternative methods

If you snort drugs it causes your sinuses to plug. Afrin clears your nose so you can breath and snort more drugs. That sinus pressure relief causes the sinuses to rely on it to be clear. You end up needing it to breath right and to be able to snort the drugs you need to stay well. That's just one way to become addicted to afrin.

Scott is skirting around Stern's questions a lot here. If you're recovering from addiction there's shit in your life that you really don't want to go near because it's very touchy and it's most likely the reason one is using in the first place. I saw another video on here with a voice teacher Ken Tamplin where he was playing Scott's isolated vocals on Plush and he was frequently clearing his throat throughout the session so Scott must've had the nasal issues for a while.
