I really miss the KC Armstrong era of the Stern show

KC was always one of the few Stern Show members I actually like. Also as whacky as he sometimes was I legitimately think that he was too sincere and genuine to be on the show. It is great to know that he is doing better and that he is still alive. One of the most upsetting and uncomfortable moments in the history of the show was when KC came back to the studio during the Sirius years and Gary and co treated him like a stranger and as if he was some maniacal psychopath (even though he was somewhat menta) it was hard to watch because all KC wanted was some compassion from his so called friends and for the person he once looked up to to give him some time. I haven't seen that incident for years so I can't even remember if he got to enter the studio and speak to Howard that particular time? But regardless he was treated badly.

Interesting hearing about KC I always wondered what happened to him. I always felt like KC represented the kind of guy that Howard resented and feared when he was growing up. The stereotypical “Jock” got all the chicks and was popular. He really seemed to revel in making him look like an incompetent idiot. Payback.

I haven't had the same struggles as KC and I didn't lose the amount of money that he lost on gambling but I totally know what he meant when he was talking about being so depressed that he didn't care if he fucked his future up and lost all of that money. During my first semester of college at 18 years old, my high school sweetheart (who went to college literally across the country for school) and I broke up and I became severely depressed for the first time in my life. All I cared about after that was drugs and alcohol. Dropped out of school after the semester ended and for several months I worked at a shitty job and frequently drank on the job. Randomly one day Nintendo released Amiibo figurines and I became obsessed with collecting them. From there I started collecting other figurines and it was the only thing that brought me any happiness at that time. Opened credit cards and overdrafted my banks account and never paid it back. I figured I'd be dead before it would cause any serious problems for me. When I got my shit together a year and a half later, I felt like a real fool for screwing myself like that
