My son just started basketball, never played a day in his life and one of the mom's from the team made the comment that my son was not apart of the team! She even went as far as denying me a practice schedule because I "didn't have a child that was on the team!" Luckily my son didn't hear her and wasn't present when she said it to me! I hope this video and others will help!

My son is in love with watching and playing basketball. He watches on TV with me and watches the older kids basketball team practice at his elementary school (he's school is a high/middle/elementary school all in one, he watches the middle school team) He is on the autism spectrum and he is mostly non verbal. We work on his dribbling and he loves "covering" me when I'm playing. Just bought him a little four foot hoop. Trying to get him to shoot but he can dunk it so that's all he wants to do 😄 anyway awesome video man

I appreciate what you've created here Howard, both in your son's ability and the quality of your videa. Amir (sp?) has obviously already had a ton of coaching. His skills are on par with a much older child. These drills are over the head of many (most?) 5 year old's who might not even be able to control a bouncing ball. How did you get him to this point? I doubt it was with these same drills. I also notice Amir is using a regulation basketball. I thought youth leagues used a smaller ball?

Parents and trainers. Please remember that some kids are naturally more gift it than others so a lot of these drills that appear to be simple can be very difficult in the beginning, but if you stick to it, your child will be able to handle a basketball. This kid in the video has a unique skill set so please don’t get discouraged if your child struggles to dribble about this well at at the same age. Keep chugging away at it.
