ABSOLUTELY! My thinking as well, but the chords are SO different. I play at guitar, and this one is easy compared to "Oh, Darlin' " But still, I am always struck by this was done BEFORE the other (1960 vs 1969). Still, ya gotta wonder...the productions are similar, but this is a standard blues format even though the chords are more sophisticated than the 1-4-5 straight blues. Both songs are classics, IMO, and I love them both!

I love Don Henley! He does an amazing job with this song and his rendition is so close to Charles Brown but is totally his at the same time. He is my favorite of the band Eagles and I love his solo songs as well. “Please Come Home for Christmas” is my favorite secular Christmas song and Mr. Henley nails it. ❤️
