Thank you so much for the shoutout, great video and it's true that this concept trailer really put me in a position where studios and financiers contacted me instead of the other way around. I have been living out of making my own films ever since I posted this playground trailer. Not easy to take the time to work on your own projects, but it's time well spent and even if your films don't make millions views ( this as a lot to do with luck and algorithms etc..) you will end up with a short film you can share with others and won't regret making! Thank you again for your analysis it really warms my heart that people enjoy my work! All the best!

I saw another artist like Oleg Vdovenko on the creator of ebf's likes on twitter (before they removed them) only the theme was more domestic less scifi, a little bit more realistically rendered, very unsettling. I don't recall his name, but I was reminded of their work by the presentation of Oleg.

The thing is this is all hype for concept alone with no mention of story, maybe speculation but nothing official. I agree it’s a very smart idea to make a trailer before making the project but if your project heavily relies on story that a trailer does not convey the odds will be against you. That being said anything art driven or just has great art will work like gangbusters since the second I saw this trailer I have been dying of anticipation for when it will be picked up and finished.
@HowardWimshurstАй бұрын
If you aren't able to convey or at least tease your animated story within a trailer... could that be a problem with the creator / trailor editor? Are you sure the problem is with the trailer format? I think a lot of the story came across in this trailer. Or are we confusing story with plot?
@CollatoАй бұрын
@@HowardWimshurst @ Possibly mixing up story with plot, it’s true that the “overall story” and theme comes across in a trailer but my point was being what if say your project has an amazing story/script but your visuals are lacking, both in quality in art and not contextually interesting. I’m just saying a lot of the indie art scene would benefit greatly by looking for investors with a trailer but I just worry there will be some people with a good idea but a crap trailer that might have a better chance with a different kind of showcase like one entire completed scene or something like that.

Not anti-capitalism, but why does animation have to be a "product"? Why can't it just be art or a statement...
@HowardWimshurstАй бұрын
Doesn't have to be. If you're flexible you can see it as one or the other depending on the context of the conversation, or maybe even... both symultaneously.
