In the monitor you can set turn on and offs and have to keep the same speed exiting and entering. Just takes a few rounds to set with 2 people

With my precision planting setup, I can adjust the start and stop planting to get rid of that gap which I had to do this spring as well. I'm sure ag leader has something similar

Love your videos as a farmer. Too, why aint you guys using Y drops and have the nutrients right against the corn like we all do down here in Illinois?
@nathanmorton40802 ай бұрын
Yes. Can't beat banding with y drop, if your guna do it you might as well do it right 😉
@andytuck132 ай бұрын
This was first pass nitrogen application. It was too wet to put UAN down so urea was used instead as to not burn the corn. This is not a substitute for Y drops.

First thing look at your planting map and see if it on the start or at the end of the row. Adjust setting and dig next year. Technology is great when it works perfectly. 😂

225 bu/ac corn takes over 200 lbs. of N more to finish. Seeing that much yellowing means you need much more from somewhere!
@andytuck132 ай бұрын
We’ve seen 300 bushel corn from 100 units applied N. All about management
@andytuck132 ай бұрын
Saturated soils creates a different scenario. 10” over average rainfall from planting to V4 makes for some challenging management decisions.

@@andytuck13 AgPhD has good apt says 336 removal. It has to come from some source. What is a unit? In college it was mostly grams or sometimes lbs.
@peteparker73962 ай бұрын
Speed has nothing to do with row shut offs. Your measurement are off in the settings. You should be able to adjust it easy enough. You do that before you go wide open. All you gotta do is check the seed placement.
@andytuck132 ай бұрын
Actually it is an aspect of speed. The faster you go the more you need to adjust the look ahead settings.

If there is that much compaction, why dont ya'll plow every few years to break it up? I'm not a farmer.

Because using a sub soil zone builder works better than plowing. Plowing destroys top soil by causing run off.
@MorganOtt-ne1qj2 ай бұрын
Moldboard plowing disturbs the soil structure and can leave a hardpan below. It has its place in some applications, but isn't the best tool for everything.
