We are also the not so impressed owners of a howling moon RTT....so much shared experience there...tents ballooning outside after folding, tent stuck in zipper, having to crawl around on top of unit ...all of it! Was thinking perhaps we had just missed someone, but your video has convinced me that it is just a royal pain in the proverbial.

This is an interesting video. Vendors usually show you how long it takes to set up a tent and rarely show how to properly disassemble the tent. In this respect the instructions provided by Howlingmoon are very poor. The tent is also much more difficult to assemble or disassemble if the car has a side cover installed. Thanks for you video.

Hi great video, I do feel your pain. I’ve got the same tent, and a swing out arwning on order so I was starting to worry about the hardest part of the zip up being behind the awning 😳. One thing I would suggest is after pushing the tent back over, slide the cover in the channel before climbing up as this saves a trip up and down when on your own as I usually am. I also find that the long spring steel rods are good for hooking in to the zip puller for pushing or pulling the zip from one side.

This is a great vid. Recently purchased this kit and was struggling with the put away. Thanks for your help and honest review.

Maybe the cover needs elastic ribbon around the outside at the base and get ride of the zip, Thats how my rooftop cover currently works and has 2 straps that run over top to hold in place and the corners. Also on the site it does say u can get a bigger cover to allow for bedding and as well as the inside bungie cords could possibly make a couple of bungie cords u could add to outside when closing to help pull tent in and run them left to right, might help.
