I believe I figured what the issue is. I purchased this exact model a fews weeks ago for a discounted price at Tractor Supply because it was a returned item and it had “issues”. It would run fine and all but once i hit the gas it would die on me. I did minor adjustments like the video stated but I also adjusted the T which I believe stands for “Tension” anyways since it would die on me once I pressed the gas and let go of it i started to hold the gas and adjusted the T at the same time making sure it would stay on. Basically hold it while adjusting it and letting go of the gas at the same time until you hit the perfect spot where it doesn’t die. Once you have it to where you can let go of the gas and it stays on then you can start giving it gas and letting go and it shouldn’t die. I’ll be happy to make a video if any one needs it. Hope this helps.

can you tell me if the small hose inside the fuel tank is merely a vent tube, or does it connect to something? I don't see anything inside the tank that it may connect to. thanks

Have this saw and the tank vent is plugged saw bucks and dies if I loosen the fuel cap 3/4 of a turn tank breaths saw works like it should.

I just got mine and it will not start… why should you have to make an adjustment right out of the box?
@HowlingFarms2 ай бұрын
Yes. Since making this video, some family members bought some and they worked flawlessly out of the box, others did not. Mass production is most likely the culprit.

I have Stihl and two other Husqvarna but this model I bought today and have this same issue. I clearly see its not user error as some are quick to say. Ill be taking mine back tomorrow.

Had a similar issue on mine. It was a fuel line that got kinked during assembly. A dealer and logger friend mentioned the idle screw being out of adjustment and a kinked/pinched fuel line are common problems with these. They work well after those issues are taken care of. I don't do any heavy tree felling or cutting. Mostly under 8"-10" trees and brush. I like mine for what it is but it certainly wouldn't be good for anything big. It's a decent saw for the price but not if you're going need more out of a saw. Best of luck!

A friend of mine just bought this saw and he knows nothing about a chainsaw. I am getting a headache just thinking about what is in store for me working the bugs out for him

Was having this issue so thank you for this, going to see if this is the issue with mine, cause as a climber I use this saw alot for the medium branches and it sux when it dies constantly
@woofy5483 жыл бұрын
chainsaw issues are almost always carb problems when they're new. Id get the high and low screw adjusted correctly.Chain tension is usually the next biggest issue. If that saw is new, Id take it back and exchange it for a different one. Your Stihl saws get adjusted at the dealer when you buy them, that's why you don't generally have those problems when you purchase from a dealer. Take your saw to a Husqvarna dealer and have them adjust that high speed screw so you don't blow it up.

Thanks. The Stihl didn't run into carb issues until years later. I've been hearing Husqvarna's can have issues out of the box. We're covered in snow for another several months, but when summer comes around, I am going to take it to get professionally tuned and inspected.

@@HowlingFarms I have a newer 120 and it idles fine, but then dies when full throttle or letting off after full throttle. Have to order the tools online since no stores around carry the carb adjusting tools. Had to rely on a craftsman chain saw for half the price.
@cain26553 ай бұрын
I have bought two of those. They are both lemons out of the box you end up having to replace the whole carburetor you get them adjusted. They don't do too bad and then the same thing starts to happen. They're kind of a waste of money.

Not really, this saw has a tone of issues. Mine had issues starting, using a tone of chain oil (1 tank of fuel to 2 tanks of bar oil), tension screw is bloody useless, it doesn't idle well. I've had to tune mine twice in the first 12 months. It's good when it run, it has a good amount of power. I can cut 60cm hardwood (diameter) trees down with it with little trouble. But this 120 saw has a tone of issues. It's a shame because people who aren't mechanically minded will have issues at no fault of their own. It's just they don't know how to fix the issues (and really they shouldn't need to be fixing these issues).

@@unarmedblackguydid you ever find a solution for it using a lot of bar oil.
@unarmedblackguy Жыл бұрын
@@manlymouse4408 not so much a solution but I changed the oil I was using and that's fixed the issue. I dunno where you are, but I'm in Australia and here there's a shop called Supercheap Auto and I buy their oil and that's been great.

If there are the same frequent problems people are having it is not Human error. It is this Husky 120 11 is a piece of junk! I put in the Husky pre mix fuel ….and it wouldn’t start. And, yes when I got it running it would die. Never had a problem with my Jonsen Red. I’ve been cutting log lengths for over thirty years. These new chainsaws are not built like they used to be.
@bigbore44982 жыл бұрын
Every issue, with every motor, that is properly built, is air, fuel, or fire. If they starve for air, the run like crap. Starve for fuel, they run like crap. And if they have poor ignition, they run like crap. A new saw also needs a break in period to seat the ring properly to the cylinder. Usually 3-5 tanks of fuel. Then tune unless it just doesn’t run. Husky 120 is a good saw. But like everything else it must be tuned. I just bought one yesterday at an auction in barely used condition. Not running that great. Especially in the cut. Fuel line, air filter, and spark plug are good (plug a little dirty but cleaned it up). New fuel and 5 minutes with my cab adjustment tool and it runs like a champ. Not bad for $50 I’d say.

Epa has these things starving for fuel. I worked on my buddy's fresh out the box. Now it runs like any other saw would . He bought it over a stihl 170 due to his grandpa having one and not being impressed with it .
