the purpose of an oil bypass is To prevent oil from passing through the cooler if it is already cold the oil cooler is provided with a by-pass valve reacts to the temperature of the oil. It shunts the oil around the cooler via the bypass when it is cold.

Hello, first best wishes for this new year and thank you, you make a great job, I am looking for help, well I put myself in trouble => I think I overfilled my engine with oil, It is a "old baby", a Chevrolet S10 1987 (Durango) 2.8L V6, when I tried to start, it was ok but after maybe 20 s the engine stop, I drained the oil, now it cranks but doesn't start and no spark, with a friend we checked and changed plugs for new ones, please have you any idea

I'm guessing by "chocked" he means "choked". But that's not even the correct term. The correct term is either "plugged" or "blocked".

Boight a car and the guy said oil filter cap came off. Rebuilt turbo and ran engine to find cap over filter blasting off. Guess the oil pressure relief valve mist be faulty.
