I know some french youtubers where everyone in the crew gets to participate. "Maison Grise" (means "grey house" because their offices and studios are located in a small house with grey bricks) is a group of youtubers doing entertainment (games, contests, challenges, and so) where it started with the financial director being asked once to play the role of referee in a game. People loved it, he did it again, then everyone from video editor to cameraman, accountant, etc. became guests in several videos.

7:07 isn’t that technically a variable-_frequency_ drive? You control the speed of an electric motor by changing the frequency of the electricity it receives. You can tell the motor on this machine is controlled with a VFD because of the whine it makes at low speeds while spinning up (ex. 9:18)
@patrick-lynch Жыл бұрын
I agree that they are typically called variable frequency drives, at least in the USA. Dr. Google says A VFD is specifically for AC power/motors and modulates the frequency where a VSD can also control the voltage before sending the power to an AC inverter, and therefore can drive DC motors as well (without using the inverter). I was going to argue that what he pointed at was the VFD/VSD Controller, but he said "Drivah", which is close enough.

This sword machine is the absolute most awesome contraption you've ever contrapted, hands down, no debate. The way it whistles in the air as you spin it up is terrifying. The way it slices anything imaginable is satisfying. If there is one improvement that could be made, it's to find a stronger way to bind the blades to the contraption. Maybe bigger blades/swords with bigger holes for bigger bolts, maybe something custom made. Maybe something with a crossguard built into the blade, and build something to slot the whole handle and crossguard into (make it fit like a jigsaw puzzle piece) so you don't have to rely on flimsy little bolts as the weakest link.

Katanas are single-edged swords. Yours were placed with the flat side down and the angled side up, which is why everything was tossed upward by the cuts. It also meant that the swords were pushed down with equal force on each slice, flexing them. For weak items like berries, the swords would cut right through with almost no movement, but the more solid and heavy things like a watermelon are going to put a lot of downward force on each blade. Also the curve of the blades tend to push the victims/ammunition outward, reducing the number of cuts they'll make. The solution is to use straight, doubled-edged blades like longswords.
@BIGTTSNORLAX Жыл бұрын
I've got a suggestion! Pendulum-swing some items into the swords instead of dropping them. You could get the middle of more of the objects
