Beautiful window boxes! They really put you in the Christmas spirit. The dried hydrangea took it over the top. The best part is that you can enjoy them from inside, also. 🎅🏻🎄⛄️

First, LOVE the hat! Always love your designs, and thanks always, for sharing info and teaching. I've been subscribed to Southern Living magazine longer than my memory. Still enjoy holding a book or mag. in my hands! I'm loving and using cardinals this year. Hope we see a holiday "inside" peek, again this year. ❤our👩🌾

What a great 👀 you have for detail....You're another great YT gardener👍Now I need to hit lowe's this weekend for a few fresh bundles of greenery, and I passed Joann's yesterday, but passed it by as I was heading to Michael's! I found some white birch limbs to add into some container arrangements!!!! Of course finding decorative's off wooded land as Laura and her mom did, would even be better! Enjoy your beautiful window boxes....

Really enjoy your videos, a lot of helpful information and great ideas. Enjoyed viewing your home in Country Sampler......you have a very beautiful and cozy looking home.

I love it too! So pretty! Where did you pick up the huge pine cones? I wish could grow hydrangeas here, maybe I just need to find the right type. Our area is super hot 🥵 and dry in the summer, we hardly get any rain here in the Central Valley of California. It’s always dry and dusty. This area is mostly cotton and grapes, and of course nuts, like almonds and pistachios. All around us is farming areas. The biggest thing is I have to plant everything in pots, we live in military housing (rental) so no inground planting. What hydrangea would you recommend. I’ve tried the “houseplant” variety 👎🏼 it was a beautiful purple one. I babied that thing, and it still croaked. Not sure what variety it was, I figured since they sold it at Lowe’s, it must be okay for our area. Thanks for showing us a beautiful window box. Can’t wait till it gets alittle snow covered. Btw, just ordered some wilt stop so I can make a potted Christmas display. Happy Planting 💜🌺🌸🎄

Hi there! Yes a fair bit. Using the shrubs that are actually in the soil plus staples help. The only parts I pick up occasionally are the tiny pine cones. I could probably wrap them with floral wire and secure them to the greens. Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Silly question - Do you water these boxes? These are absolutley gorgeous. I would pay big bucks for you to decorate mine if you were local 😌
@HowsItGrowing5 жыл бұрын
How nice!! Thank you so very much! Not a silly question at all and in fact, I should have mentioned. Yes I would water these, because of the evergreens planted directly into them. Maybe once a week. Don’t want the roots to get dried out.

I always forget to ask, so asking now: How's it going with Master Gardener class?👩🌾
@HowsItGrowing4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for asking! I’m all finished. But I’ll still need hours to get certified. With the crazy world, that’s on hold for now. But I just loved it. Very informative and fun. I got a lot out of it.

Just beautiful but don't you worry about the lanterns out in the weather?
@HowsItGrowing5 жыл бұрын
Thank you! No, not at all. I’ve been using them on the porch steps for about 10 yrs. a little shine up sometimes. And the candles inside are specific for outdoor use. If not, then I’d definitely worry. 😊

I'm not super familiar with those hayracks/liners, but am curious if the water affects the siding of the house? I'd hate to have moisture mess with the siding on my house. Any tips? Yours look beautiful.
@HowsItGrowing5 жыл бұрын
Excellent question! So these are attached by little iron loop hooks and can easily be lifted off if you don’t want them up years round. I’ve had them up about 3 years now and they are always full of soil year round never taken down. I peeked under one last week just to see and everything looked to be in perfect shape. I think the hooks and the metal bump it out enough and since they are fiber the moisture runs down and out and doesn’t collect in between the surfaces. I have other non hay rack and those I attached with some strips of 2x4 first so they weren’t right on the house. Boy, that’s a long answer. Ha! Hope it helps. I’d say go for it!
