I disagree with this. My top team is currently 277k what I do is I play through heroic8 than I play the normal DF mission spending 200 gems on energy refresh and I spend 40k credits every time I get it. If RNG doesn't completely screw me I get 25k gear material a day.

I started this game July 15th and learned from you. I started spending 400 gems per day on gear farming and now have 2x 120k heroes, working on my 3rd. Thanks for the info when starting out! Keep it up :) What I do is All of heroic Chapter 8, then 7-18. I refresh 7-18/8-6/8-18 all 2 times. Then I spend all my credits earned on basic chests x 10. Doing this every day, I make on average 15k gear shards for 400 gems (spent on energy/heroic refreshes).

Each day the game favors certain items... One day they give out 💎 a lot next day it maybe gear the next it maybe those green coins etcetera... It just depends on the day and theirs no particular pattern how this plays out

Another thing that helps getting gems is linking with consol, it gives you 25 more gems and more sim cards.

The drop rate for gear is a LOT lower than it used to be apparently, because I'm getting maybe 4-6k with 2 refreshes. I'm only spending 100 gems vs 250 though.

Great video dude! Here some notes. Heroic battles can´t refresh more than 3 times...its two times 25 gems refresh and one 50 gems refresh. And that´s it. I do the same thing you do here because I wasn´t focus on the gears, only in character shards. I refresh twice Heroic PST and EB. Thats fine if you want shards, but for gears is better not refreshing fights with gems. Doing it that way, it cost me 200 gems to refresh the battles and energy twice and buy 10 normal chest to get sims. So, spending 200 gems I get a total of 4640 shattred material from gears, 115.054 credits, 14 sims, 20 shards, 3 Exp caps, 2 reforge items and 9 energy. After that I try other way. I focus on the gear instead of the shards and I only refresh energy to sim battles. I refresh energy 3 times, cost of it 175 gems. And buy 30 normal chest for SIM CHIPS. I sim Heroic 6-18 and 24, complete chapters 7 and 8. And a few normal chapters to spend the rest of the energy before refresh it again. Spending 175 gems I get 9460 shattred material from gears, 176.942 credits, 36 shards, 23 sim chips, 8 exp caps, 75 energy and 7 reforge items. So...yeah, not much to say after that...LOL. It should be noted that the third or fourth time you try to refresh energy it goes up to 75. Ugh...the one drawback I have with this game is the fact that they try to nickel and dime you. I'm fine with limits, but does it seriously have to go up? If I was only allowed to play 3 times and spend 150 gems total I would be fine with it.

chris o oneal It's not because of laziness. It's because we have to sleep. The 25 minute operations give you by far the most consistent gems, and you can't repeat those over and over if you're asleep.
