I can't actually block my bank from sending me spam trough RCS. Even if I click to do so, the messages keep coming. The workaround was to set it as not a conversation then disable their notifications. But they keep sending me messages, now just silently.

Does anyone know why I can't receive individual replies when I send an mms group message sending Pictures, Gifs, and screenshots? Samsung Messages let's me do this. I don't like when everyone can see each other's replies when commenting on a picture etc. I might use Google Messages if they fix this.

The only problem with scheduling a message with Google messages is having to long press the send button. Samsung has a separate button for this to prevent accidentally sending the message immediately.

Keep in mind if you use Gemini AI inside Messages then you break the RCS end to end encryption because it requires Google servers to process. Not worth it. Just use AI outside of Messages, it's not that inconvenient but way safer.

U aren't actually using Gemini to chat with someone are you? Gemini is just a separate feature that acts like a contact. Just like u have some contacts in your phone who have RCS and some contacts who don't, Gemini is just acting like a buddy who doesn't have RCS

What really baffles me with Google Messages, and actually made me switch to another messaging app, is the fact that I cannot, despite my many attempts to find out how, simply select a word or a phrase from a message I have received without selecting the entire message. Like why can't I simply long tap a word and have the app let me select a text? Like an authentication code. It is supposed to be the best messaging app if it is the default. Yet, on that front, it majorly _SUUUUUCCCCKKKSSS._ It's not a lot to ask of.

Now, below any authenticator message, you can press "copy ######" and you can do it from the notification bar, inside the messages app, or in the bubble version of the conversation. It's a whole lot more intuitive than ever before.

IMO Samsung messaging is WAY better for my needs. For one you can change the background for EACH individual contact and also zoom in/out to make text larger or smaller for each contact. Google now offers "pinning" but Samsung had this YEARS ago! In my personal experience syncing between a tablet and a phone also is greatly degraded using Google over Samsung. Samsung is instant. If you use a Samsung multiple devices you are better off sticking to the Samsung messaging app.
