You are definitely the best Power BI KZbinr I've found! All your videos are great and flow really well. I've seen lots of people that have good info, but their presentation skills are lacking, or vice/versa. You combine info and presentation skills equally at an expert level. Keep up the great work!

Great video, for the alignment and distribution, like power point, Power BI has a tool to equally distribute and align these forms. Select the forms > Arrange > Align > Distribute Horizontally

Very nicely done. One idea for usability of reports that are used in meetings: It might make sense to use colors for categories that can clearly and easily be named without confusing it with other colors. Otherwise discussions might go like: "Can you explain that small dark turquoise section?" - "You mean this one?" - "No, not the cadet blue one. The slightly darker one." - "That one?" - "No, that's the dark sea green one." - "What!?" 😂

the technique at 7:10 might be good for when you are trying to group several visuals together, however nowadays I just use padding to create the same effect (plus less objects to compete for processing). I find that 15-20px padding looks quite nice in a lot of ocassions.

You are heaven sent. I am currently working on embedding a power BI report to a data entry power app. This generally helps me blend the look of my report to my power app. Good work here! 🎉

Man! The more I learn about Power Bi the more I see how many basic things it lacks. Considering it´s something that been around for years, I can´t get my head around it. It should be called Workaround BI
@HowtoPowerBI2 жыл бұрын
lol 😅 .. yea also don't get why some things like padding are not there .. but it is still doing a good job compared to most other "self-service bi tools" .. and over time I guess they will add those little annoying things are missing at the moment

@@HowtoPowerBI also not to mention colours on charts changing when uploaded to the service. But that aside, thank you for your videos. Without them I´d be lost on some of these topics.

When I copy and paste the screenshot of my power bi report into powerpoint it is much smaller than the powerpoint slide itself. If I scale the screenshot to the size of the powerpoint slide it throws off all of the ratios for reapplying this back to power bi. Can you further explain this step and how you size the screenshot from power bi into powerpoint? Thanks!

Love the simple design tips! Be careful using background images as it often breaks the accessible colour modes (I believe - unless it’s been fixed recently). Won’t always be critical depending on your audience and how your reports are used.

Many thank for valuable information always 🎖 I've a small problem that I made my own theme in power bi with font that isn't in program, then when I published it doesn't came the same, is there any way before to save same theme when publishe? or would you think if I can fix it on the Embedded online with Java?
@paulrockliffe23782 жыл бұрын
I think trick number 6 would be to set the Report Wallpaper to match or contrast so it stays looking nice, but then Step 7 would be to make sure your App colours are set to match too. Then you remember that you can't set custom colours in your App and it all falls down! It's worth bearing in mind that you might want to constrain your design choices so they still work really well wherever the report ends up being embedded, Teams, Sharepoint, the PowerBI App, Report Service and Apps all wrap slightly different stuff around your design. The lack of Custom App colours really annoys me!

I don't know how this report will look like if we open it in another screen size. As you created it by making a screen capture and created dark slots to put graph inside. So when we open in another screen like desk monitor, these dark slots can be expanded more horzontally and your graph can go out of these slots?

Really excellent presentation and content (particularly in the way you explain each step - as in other videos). For me, the most difficult part is grabbing and sizing the individual visuals and placeholders which then always seem to change size/ go out of line. I wondered if you had any tips for making this easier?
@BruceNJeffAreMyFlies11 ай бұрын
For the extra space around the border, at the same colour as the background it borders, you can simply add "padding" in the visuals settings. Make your box the desired size, and then define the padding as however many pixels you want. Your way is good for adding a border of another colour though.
@HowtoPowerBI11 ай бұрын
The video has been recorded when the padding formatting option didnt exist yet
