Does BEAM tool works with other and more complex families? such as curtain walls, doors, adaptive families? or just sticks with generic models?

As a matter of fact, architectural modeling consists of thousands of elements! Imagine a 10 story building that has many details that are parametrically modeled by Grasshopper. At least a concept level project is needed for a real test, so maybe we should see how this plugin handles the task? If so 🤔☕

I'm confused, is it able to set a revit door into the geometry made in rhino, that has been exported by this plug-in as a Wall family?🤔

I am using it and it says that I don't have any blocks when I go to import it into Revit. Any help please!!!

You have only one block export with the free version

I have similar idea to do something like this in 3ds max.. Same clean geometry as rhino.. I usually do it manually but i need a programmer to implement my whole process between 3ds max and revit to save time in a well scripted plug-in.. So if you're interested let's collaborate and widen the ability of Beam.. Thank you

Is rhino inside revit you set up a few template scripts it's just as quick and way more flexible

Many plug-ins to make is possible to bring Rhino geometry in Revit have been on the market : geometry gym, proving, and BEAM. However, since Rhino Inside has been out, we no longer need to use those expensive plug-ins. We are already spending thousands dollars just for Revit only. We also still need 2D CAD software like AutoCAD. Can we architects can afford such expensive plug-ins? I am not even sure how long we architects can use such expensive Revit

You are forgetting to consider that while Rhino Inside Revit is free, your time for your employer is not. So if you are using a free tools that takes more hours to set - up and require more expertise to use, your employer is losing more money than buying a simplified and fast solution. Stop looking at the workplace with the eyes of a student / employee and you will understand these basics. In my company we wasted thousands of dollars in hours to try setting up GH, Dynamo workflows. Never worked.

@@m_deity4595 Whoa~ woha~ Calm down. Nobody here hurts you. Take a deep breath and get your excitement calmed down first, and let's talk about this issue in depth. All right? You are totally misunderstanding my point. Read through my comment again, when you get calmed down.

@@archist9789 i don't need to calm down as I'm not mad, you are reading it wrong. Just telling you my insight after 10+ years of experience in architecture technology. Not sure where you see anything aggressive in my message. Anyway... Money is hours not only license cost. That's a super important aspect that gets too often overseen. Everyone takes for granted the salary but considering in UK 1 h = 30£+ minimum to an employer you can clearly see that buying a software that reduces the hours to perform a workflow can be several times less expensive than a free tool. You can walk from LA to NY, it's free compared to a plane. But it takes you longer and each day you pay for food and a night of sleep. In the end will cost you more.

@@m_deity4595 I completely disagree with this comment. Also, it's not worth commenting any further after looking over all your past comments. I just don't want people to read this and think it's not worth their time learning Dynamo & Grasshopper workflows. You will win projects, save money, influence others & develop together as a group for companywide standards & workflows with learning & applying visual scripting on projects. This is working extremely well for the company I am working for and for some it might just not be as successful. Everyone has their owns experiences & things are just working great here. Well done to BEAM for developing this tool, it works great & is a useful tool to have in your toolbox.
