How to Replace an Arcade Control Panel Overlay (CPO)

Hello and good day. I just recently acquired an Atari Centipede and wanted to put a new CPO on it. After I remove the old one, do I really need to repaint it? And how much sanding must I do? I am new to DIY on arcades. Great video by the way.

I am gettting ready to do this - your video was great! Quick question - my panel doesn't have any rust issues - can I just remove the old adhesive and do a light sanding to rough it up, w/o painting, etc.?

Yes. That should work. The original paint is very durable and should be a sound base as long as you provide a little texture by sanding.

Guess he doesn't 😂... Google it, many sources come up. I did mine nothing like this video, and it worked great.
