Don is one of my absolute favourite motorcycle reviewers. I rewatch all his reviews here on KZbin every few months. When I watch them I feel that I am in the company of someone who really appreciates great motorcycles. Thank you for these wonderful reviews.

I keep coming back to this review, and to Don's other reviews. If only there were more of them.

This is all very true. I got the opportunity in 2003 to rent one in Italy and ride from Rome to Monaco France and back I'm 6 ft tall and I felt like I was riding a dirt bike the whole time it was so much fun. So much fun I ended up buying a 2000 900ie. In typical Ducati standards it has eaten up my third battery and a starter. No worries though I love the bike and plan on many years of fun to come

Brilliant video reviews! This gentleman, Don Hall, must be one of the best reviewers I have ever seen. I keep watching and enjoying the videos over and over again. Where can I find other reviews or information about him? Internet search seems to return no results about him.

A documentary i saw said ducati were in serious financial distress, and the monster was a parts bin bike that saved the company. Nice bike though.

I like this guy, is there anything he hasn't riden?

Yes. A chopper. His face used to go red at the mention of the word. Hilarious. I liked him too, we all did.

Why does the engine look a bit over 90 degrees?
@soaringvulture5 жыл бұрын
The cylinders are indeed 90 degrees apart but the cam drives aren't; the cams are driven by timing belts and the belts' drive pulley is offset from the crank. This makes the covers for the timing belts have an angle over 90 degrees.

Don, please review a BMW airhead!

aaaarrrgghh its an 90 degree L twin, v twins are less than 90 degrees, the guy who designed it (I forget his name) made it an L twin on purpose, called it an L twin on purpose and did so because it was a new design that was different to all the V twins that had gone before it. This is not a criticism of the reviewer at all. Many of the "Monster" videos I have watched today have also made the same error. It's unfortunate that it was this one that tipped me over into writing this pedantic waffle. sorry if I just stole a few seconds of your life that you'll never get back unless of course you learned something new in which case, you're welcome my good man. oh yeah, also Ducati's rule!!
