to me this strategy of "if you don't like X aspect of this game then play this other game from us" just means the game will have flaws that are never going to be addressed. i think mihoyo games are indeed not for me and i've stopped playing all of them. there's plenty of good gachas out there if you don't care about pretty graphics and exploring a 3d environment and uf you only like gachas "high bugdet" like that wuwa exists as a good option for someone who wants kinda a little bit of every good thing on mihoyo's games with improvements (and still improving), and i'm hopeful for arknights endfield (i've been playing og arknights since release for 5 years now)

That's basically what it means when you read between the lines, yeah. As much as I hope for HSR and Genshin to improve on the story presentation for example, I don't think they'll resolve that issue any time soon - if the formula makes a lot of money, why bother changing it?

Exactly! And yeah I'm hyped for Endfield. i can't get into Arknights cause I'm really just interested with the story. But I have to say, their TD mechanics are quite complex and enjoyable. Endfield is my cup of tea though. I l;ove the art direction. I'll play it along with WuWa. I just hope players new to the AK franchise (I stopped in CH3 I think) won't be missing much in terms of narrative in Endfield.

Yes sure Miyabi has overshadowed every dps with her dmg but I don't consider it power creep yet, if the ZZZ devs made end game more difficult to downright almost impossible for older characters to clear and made newer characters far more stronger then that's blatant power creep and only time will tell whether they'll take this route. So far all characters can still clear including Ellen, Billy and even Anton who the community considers to be the worst dps.

I'm a 1st month SEA player of HI3rd and have tried every single one of their games since but never stick long enough. What i realize is that hoyo games tend to have - bad starter character - bad gearing system - story that is derivative lacking in uniqueness But very good looking character. So i just prefer to enjoy their IP in the sideline thru fanart instead.

If you’re looking for something similar, You should give WuWa/PGR a try it’s not a perfect game but it’s a good alternative. Wuwa especially addresses everything that you point out. -Starter/MC is very reliable to that point that it can clear end game (spectro rover, the MC, just got buffed can solo most of the end game now). Powercreep is also not a problem to the point that even 4 star (Danjin, and Chixia) can clear endgame content solo -The gearing system although not perfect is easier to complete (you can do it ranging from three days to two weeks granted RNG blessed you). -As for the story well everyone has its own taste so only you can tell whenever it’s good or nah (1.0 has many yaps i got to admit, but that’s because the game is still establishing the world setting). Come and partake in the celebration of the carnevale.

50/50 drops system needs to go in all their games. Change to 70 pulls, and you will have 100% chance get characters on all banners.

Hoyogames is genius in making money tbh. I think they are intentionally making their other games look bad while making their other games look good, that way their players will just stay in their vicinity. Wuwa and other competition might be godsend to them as well because of tribalism, ppl cant stop talking about their games. We are waging war like idiots but you'll never know, these companies might just be in league with each other and harvesting us like gold mines.

You nailed it 4:36 cuz 2 weeks into ZZZ I’m like… wishing so many small things they could’ve done for Genshin for years but they just decide to make a separate game for the things you wish were a thing in every other game- not even mentioning the insanely predatory banners we got just now w the Arlechinno re run it’s just getting to a point where the stress I get from playing Genshin is not worth the playtime if I enjoy myself more on ZZZ and already tanked 200 hours into WuWa recently 😅

ZZZ wont last either, the game is new now so its on its honeymoon phase. HSR also had really good story delivery and well animated characters scenes at the start. Wait a little bit and you will start seeing enemies with multiple horrendous element resistances except to the featured banner characters and enemies that completely break units like some enemies that are literally immune to a core mechanic of the game, anomalies.

zzz in honeymoon phase? I don't think so, I feel like they're just adding ppl's suggestions like "we ask for skins" and they did! "We ask for multiplayer" and they did it again! as well as for QOL and UI stuffs. So far, I believe the game will be successful, even being underrated they will add everything and things in their mind to test the waters.

dis is one damn long honeymoon phase even hsr didn’t listen this hard but hey i dont blame yall for praying on its downfall but according to the leaks i see rn they are still cookin wit sumthin called “auto battle” so i still have faith in em still cookin and i think they already made there standard of story delivery cause the hsr stories from 1.0-1.5 im sorry but zzz surpassed it in just terms of cutscenes far far the 1.5 special episode which is not even a main story commission almost has the same amount of cutscenes for the 2.0 of hsr and the 1.4 cutscenes has more then wuwa’s 2.0 i don’t think it will fall off tat much in story delivery due to comic strips too just cause of tat already adds uniqueness to its storytelling compared to others but hey im gonna go eat my own words if they actually do a complete 180

Because it was intended to be like that. The feeling of scarcity makes people want more, and that's how they generate money, and evidently, it's reflecting on their monthly revenue. So if I were you, don't be frustrated on those kinds of things if you really love the game and don't want to spend. Just play it casually.

Honestly the reason why I play Genshin and ZZZ is because it's a better alternative to a lot of FF games I played. Couldn't finish the 13 series and got bored 25% of the way through with the story in 13-2. Boring story in FF14 and left even though I used to pay a sub for that game back then. Played Blade and Soul (better combat system than all gacha games I've ever seen), but their new story just isn't as good as the main first story. Finished BOTW and there was no replay value. Finally was happy with Maplestory 2 with cartoony anime style that was colorful and cute with a ton of community party games, but Nexon nuked it. Genshin and ZZZ was perfect for me since I've been chasing a high production colorful, anime-style game that embraces these characteristics - you would think Square Enix would make one by now. What I especially like about Genshin is it does a very good job in creating a game that many girls and women would like - none of that machismo stuff in God of War, Elden Ring, or Dark Souls stuff with the gritty, edgy, or dystopian/apocalyptic environment or gameplay. At least, it's not the main theme. However, too many game companies think women just want dress-up or dating games when they very much love action combat as well. Finally a high quality anime game exists that ticks almost all the boxes girls like me are looking for in a video game.

@@shutup1037 Because the industry fails to cater to different types of audiences outside of the straight, adult male gamer. Nintendo has a lot of family-friendly games that caters to all sorts of people, but they're not free and locked behind their consoles. I have spent more hours in Hoyo games totaling only $15 and that's all for skins than whatever Nintendo gave me. And I'm the typical player of their games, casual, and nearly F2P/low spender because most people are not whales. I used to play Animal Crossing on mobile too, but Nintendo nuked that one (that was actually a gacha). So now if I want to play Animal Crossing, I'm expected to pay nearly over $100 for the base game + the Switch. And then PKMN Scarlet/Violet turned out terrible as well with poor optimization and low-quality visuals behind a big brand name. Yeah, of course I'm going to flock to Hoyo games because they appeal to similar demographics, while ensuring high production and great optimization. Maybe if these game companies gave a shit about their quality and appealing games to other people than straight guys I wouldn't be playing a Hoyo game right now.

@SwanPrncss they give shit to quality though. You just dont see it or refuse to cuz dont want to spend a bit money. If you can get out from "3D with this model is the best" or "I must play the latest game", you can get amazing games like Hollow Knight, Ender Lilies, Okami, Legend of Heroes, Tales of series or, Ys series. Also switch has Xenoblade and Pokemon Arceus for open world. Steam also do sale pretty often up to 75%. If I only listen to only popular games I wont find some gems that I still remember until now

The biggest thing that hurts Hoyo story style as it’s all of there games (which is other gatcha as well) is there using in game models to do cutscenes/story convo to save space. HSR specifically show this greatly as due to how they rigged there units, they only have their idle animations and unless the rigging is done in the way say WuWa/zzz has there’s which wouldn’t work for HSR unless they REDID all of the game in an update as they didn’t have to make fluid rigging for a turn base and it’s there to minimize data usage as Hoyo games are made for Phones. People have said for HSR specifically should do a different style and it depends on how much data they save from this.

I've been playing HSR since release and I like the game still now. It's not because it's a "perfect game" in my eyes, I just really love the characters, story and gameplay no matter how unnecessary their method of storytelling and powercreep is. Even I agree that those who doesn't like these things should quit, as they don't find enjoyment in this. I also play Wuwa and PGR because I find enjoyment in those games.

PGR imo is a better ZZZ alternative. Generous rewards. Better gacha system with no 50/50. Characters can be obtained in 60 pulls and weapons in 30. A lot more diverse gameplay style with better combat than also Wuwa imo. Servers are in the middle of catching up to CN so theres more rewards going out rn. The DMC5 collab is coming up. The downsides imo is the game is having a bit of a powercreep issue. Theres a lack of male characters so if you're a husbando enjoyer you might be waitng a bit for the next male character. Finally if you like Z3's city exploration stuff Pgr doesn’t have that to my knowledge. Honestly reccomend giving PGR a try if you feel Z3's combat is lacking.

They certainly are afraid/nervous of WuWa, Hoyo has been mistreating a lot of their contracted creators and what not. They've literally told there collabed/paid content creators that they arent allowed to play WuWa otherwise they may remove them or stop supporting them... Theres a reason a lot of these content creators dont have higher than 90 hours in WuWa. Hoyo is definitely worried about WuWa and thinking they arent is just being dull

This is a genius theory if u disconsidering the competition, which hoyo didn't have until Wuwa, so they definitely need to change their approach coz with more competition arriving they will need to move their ass, otherwise people will not move to their other games but for the competition game, like all people that was supposed to move to ZZZ are now split with Wuwa. If there was no wuwa i guarantee ZZZ would be another giant hit, coz people wouldn't have other game to go

After hsr I decided to not to play anymore hoyo titles as I felt that very thing I also had no interest in some of the zzz character designs And now genshin has gotten very stale and stagnant And hsr powercreep is hurting old players and the casual experience Alot of my funds that were going to hoyo has shifted to other games I picked up dmc 5 collectors edition and have gone back to finish God of War R Yes, I'm playing WuWa, but I don't need to spend nearly as much in it to keep up

i play all the three Hoyoverse games and still playing Genshin(take plenty a break here and there). My take on those games are like Genshin suit my need as it FOMO are worthless and the anxiety of missing out isn't there for me. The powercreep isn't really affecting normal player because main content are easy and you can do most event without high investment. I drop HSR when I realise the powercreep and the grind isn't to my liking. It auto make it worst for me as I feel like a slave opening the games everyday to farm and not really playing the game just click a few thing and you are done with it. I really hate loading screen and since it doesn't have auto sweep function(at that time) I feel wasting time. I also drop ZZZ because of too many loading screen and transition and gameplay bored me after a while. After playing it like 12 hour, I think yeah it is not really my game. I also drop Wuwa too even though I really like my account and what the games is. However I feel like the game trying to hard to be complex and it is more toward skill level players and those theory crafting bunch figuring out combo and how to make sense character combo route. The decision to drop it because lot of loading screen when grinding and the game performance isn't that good for pc.

I also don't think zzz powercreep is begun. Yeah miyabi is op but lore wise she is like shogun afaik. People say stuff like "omg ellen in the bin, ellen who" etc but you can still fully complete the endgame with her from what i've seen. Just because a character hits more, doesn't mean the old character is trash. We need to see if the endgame revolves around the new characters with new unique kits. That would be the problem. For example if the wuwa's new set bonuses etc wasnt on echoes and on new characters only + toa required you to have that bonus, it would %100 be powercreep in my view.
