Okay, that recap on Otto got several things wrong or out of order, or technically correct but explained them in vague enough terms they give the wrong impression. Otto didn't just start experimenting on dying people for no reason. The Honkai manifested as plagues that had people dying en masse. Kallen was a warrior so she couldn't fight plagues, but Otto could since he was a scientist; he experimented on people who were already doomed to die so he could eventually develop a cure for the plagues. He saved countless lives this way, but he did it only so Kallen wouldn't suffer by stewing in her inability to save the sick. Kallen didn't find out about his experiments until later, when she donned the guise of a phantom thief to steal from the rich to give to the poor. She didn't even don this persona on her own, she did it with Otto's help and her heists only worked with his help. She also only began to do these after years of faithfuly serving Shicksal, including fighting on their behalf on the invasion they tried to lead on China (where Fu Hua fought them all back solo) which is when she began to doubt so its not like her hands were clean. Even after becoming a fuigitve, Kallen still reached out to Otto first to ask for his help in dealing with the Herrscher of Corruption (the recap makes it seem like Otto helped her after finding out by accident, but she actually asked him to help because she's always been relying on his help; he decided to help without pouring out his heart to her sincerely because Otto himself thinks he wasn't worthy of her). Yes, Kallen was definitely in a lesbian relationship with Yae Sakura but Kallen "was always happiest when she was with Otto", indicating Otto had a very real chance at one point of getting with Kallen if he'd been willing to stand at her side instead of following after and idolizing her. The conflict of interest between Otto and Kallen is effectively selfish realist vs selfless idealist, except Otto's selfishness is on Kallen's behalf; he loved her but he also admired her so much he put her on a pedestal above everyone and everything, including himself. Kallen was such a pure-hearted person but she was only able to remain that way because Otto enabled her wishes without regard for what that would do to him, which is why he became so twisted. Sin and virtue are meaningless if they cannot make Kallen happy. He is a cruel devil who plays with people's lives and feelings/a virtuous saint who will leads the just and helps those in need, because you can't make the world a better place without dirtying your hands/because Kallen would have done so in a kinder world. Once Kallen dies, Otto just spirals over the centurines into obssession and madness. He was widely regarded as a hero and savior in pulbic for all his accomplishments but in private he became increasinly more callous as he sought to bring her back, still not because he wanted her for himself but because he thinks the world wronged her and she deserved a better future. This is what "Thus Spoke Apocalypse" is about, the culmination of centuries of plotting to give Kallen a future, even if it's not on this world, even if he has to die; the real amazing part of the whole debacle is Otto unequivocally wins. He tricks everyone into trying to stop a supposed world-ending scheme of his, relying on their distrust of him and flawlessly manipulates them into helping him reach the Imaginary Tree to create a new timeline where Kallen lives and even manages to do it in a way that leaves the heroes in a better position. He takes himself off the board, accomplishes his objective and even dies while helping the heroes.

Fun fact; Otto traveled Shenzhou with the disguise name as Luocha/Raksha with Kallen in a coffin, met Sushang, and then met up with Fu Hua. Does that not sound familiar to something happened in HSR? Except this time, it's in space and he's still in the process of meeting up with Hua...

Raksha isn't actually a pseudonym, it's an INSULT. It was originally directed by the Chinese towards white Russians (and then whites in general) at the time, and it's LITERALLY calling them demons. It would have been the same thing as a white American back in the 1800;s calling every black person they see the "n" word. Otto just used it because he had no reason to use his real name at the time, and it's effectively throwing the insult back into their faces.

Also Otto wasnt driven purely by his love. He was driven because he saw Kallen as the best of humanity, which he admitted he saw in others. He intentionally revived Sirin in Kiana because the power of The Herrcher of the Void allows them to fight back against the Honkai. Since it has the power to temporarily destroy infinite power and make it finite.

Fun fact, the artificial stigma that Himeko uses was based off the first Himekos herrscher stigma. The sword that Siegfried used to save Kiana when she was younger was Judgement Of Shamash, a divine key made from Himekos core and body….. so technically Kiana has always been protected by Himeko.

1:23:25 'yae and get there...' I THINK you will find that in the manga 'Gratitude Arc'. Which is retold in game in the 'open world' area 'Sakura Samsara'. In the manga, in general, the older the story is the harder it is to follow since they are often told from the present pov, piece meal, as flashbacks or dream sequences. There is also another manga buried in the 'long form' of AE Invasion that has Bronya 'tutoring' Kiana in history. Where you get the Kallen's quote about being in love with the Herrscher and being declared 'insane' and then sentenced to hanging. Kiana, immediately, thinks of Mei and says that they maybe Herrschers but their are still human! I think it's interesting that this early in the story the 'secret herrscher' is saying that Herrschers can be human!

54:00 that's actually the moment in the Story that made me angry at Kiana because right before, people were very divided on Mei because of her decision and trying to prevent Kiana from killing herself but then this chapter came and everything rallied behind Kianas decision. It felt very Hypocritical to me but it was a good moment for her in Growth.

Shattered Samsara answers a question posed in a Fu Hua-specific side-arc earlier on. During her earlier life, in her Azure Empyrea era, she had a pair of followers, Fuxi and Nuwa. They eventually died, but created an ELF composed of their combined mind-states. This combined Nuxi ELF, said to Fu Hua once. "One day, you'll find someone who cherishes you more than the whole wide world." This, is that day. Kiana taps into the full HoV power, without the buffer of Fu Hua's Fenghuang Down(The feather), to open a portal into Fu Hua's memories. That's why she's in her White Comet battlesuit while struggling through... all those memories bog down Fu Hua, and make her blind to those around her at times.

For complex characters, neither ZZZ or Genshin have that. HSR barely has it. HI3 is just full of them. When Otto was traveling with Kallen in the casket to see the Phoenix, he called himself Luocha on this journey.

No Moon Halo is not sung by CN VAs. Out of 3 singers only hanser is the current VA for Bronya, the rest are TetraCalyx who was VA for Bronya, Mei and others in GGZ, was the singer for most songs in GGZ and writer of most English song lyrics in Honkai impact 3rd(as well as Wildfire in HSR) and Chalili singer of Reburn in HI3rd and Interstellar Journey in HSR. All 3 are/were Bilibili singers.

for what it's worth, the video about Fu Hua actually fucks up right from the start: her original name was just "Hua". Apparently, in the prior era, people did not have family names at all. The classmate she saved from a Zombie attack was the PE incarnation of an APHO playable character, Carol. Zombies are one of the earliest signs of oncoming honkai impacts. Not the first HIMEKO, just the PE one. (the first one would be from GGZ). If you want to be technical about it, the CE Himeko died from fatal honkai irradiation using the Gem of Haste, which is why she had fire abilities at the time... effectively dying from the CE Herrscher of fire's powers. so, fu Hua was up for 40k years. she did NOT lose her immortality, this is another one of those bad facts. The human brain isn't designed to remember centuries of memories, so she uses her divine key to remove and preserve chunks of her past so she could go back and look for them again if needed, but the skill she uses destroys the memories she still has as a sacrifice for temporary power. She can literally possess her feathers , allowing to hop around the feathers. but to do so she has to abandon her body. her abandoning her body when it was shot is what allowed the herrscher to be born in it, since she wasn't in it to protect it from the honkai. Her body would have been immune to possession while she was in it. Otto has effectively unkillable in canon for basically the same reason fu hua was, he had backups to retreat to if his body died, the difference was he had soulium clones waiting, while she had memory feathers. Those were human souls converted into Herrschers in puppet bodies. Siegfried is Kiana Kaslana's father. K423 is Kiana's clone. "you" exists in English too. Humans can;t survive in imaginary space without exception protections. No, Himeko was dead dead, at the end of final lesson, but the deniers were more common than the believers until flamescion. otoh, the fact that they used Amazing Grace when the illusion of HImeko popped up next should have been the nail in the coffin. It wasn't Kallen was intentionally going to her own death. There's literally nobody in Schicksal that could stop her if she chose to escape. Stop looking for Genshin references, you're getting it backwards at best.anything you saw in genshin is aT BEST a an HI3 reference. The cube is the manifested form of Void Archives, the second Divine Key. The archive of all the knowledge of the Prior Era, which Otto is using to manifest copies of the other divine Keys into the soulium that his current body is composed of. That's why he's capable of surviving where he currently is (imaginary space), he's not actually in a human body. Otto is the Honkai equivalent of Leonardo da Vinci. Otto's life is flashing before his (our) eyes. and no, the original Otto of the timeline he just saved Kallen in is still alive too here. this leads to a completely new series of timeline branches, as we saw the moment he "touched" the imaginary tree. But mainline Otto is DEAD dead here, His soulium body disintegrated, and the only body he could occupy, that of the young Otto Apocalypse, HAS young Otto in it, so will not draw his soul and sentience into it-that requires an empty vessel prepared to accept it. That is Theresa refusing to kill Amber, her sister-clone. This moment is why he adopts Theresa as his Granddaughter, Yes, Otto would absolutely be a masked fool in the HSR world, considering they were literally modelled around his actions. the brothers are unnamed. his one sister has a a name. Jingliu is based off of once of Fu Hua's disciples. Cosmic Juggernaut? Is a TRAIN ENGINE designed to travel through IMAGINARY SPACE. effectively the proto-starrail. Otto was an ANTAGONIST- but HONKAI is the "villain" remember? it's in the name!

About Hoyoverse games, you should know, while it's true, that you can enjoy the story of ANY of them, without playing ANY other, if you want to know the bigger picture, you SHOULD play basicly all of them. The company name "Hoyoverse" is a fanmade name, used before Genshin even released, because every single miHoYo game is part of the same universe (Imaginary Tree), and connected somehow. ZZZ and Genshin are separated worlds which both count as one leaf of the Imaginary Tree, while Honkai Impact 3rd plays in a different one. And the game called GGZ is another one. Meanwhile Star Rail travel among many worlds. So Jarilo-VI, Hertha Station, Penacony etc are all different worlds like Teyvat and all part of the Imaginary Tree each one is one leaf.. So the connections are in the games are not just reference or "easter eggs" but actual connections. For example: Raiden Mei in GGZ Raiden Mei in HI3rd Dr Mei in previous era, Raiden Ei in Genshin, Acheron in HSR are all the same Mei but from different worlds (or ERA). Another example is Bronya from GGZ, Bronya from HI3rd, Bronnie from HI3rd events, Bronya from HSR and Silver Wolf from HSR are all the same Bronya, BUT from different worlds different leaves of the Imaginary Tree.. Sometimes these are also affected with different Genders, like Wendy of HI3rd is Venti in Genshin, OR Kiana Kaslana is Kevin in some world or era. Yeah, Kevin in HI3rd is Previous Era Kiana. (No, they aren't reincarnations like someone said.) And about Kevin, before he killed Himeko, Himeko burned up the whole of Australia. Imaginary Space is the force that separate the worlds, basicly the Astral Express cross the Imaginary Space between 2 world, there is not much other method to leave any of those worlds exept the 2nd Divine Key which is contains the core of the previous era Herrscher of Void. Oh, and the Kaslana family is a bit complex you know.... For example, Kevin and Dr Mei in previous era "made" the child who became the ancestor of the Kaslana family tree, but in HSR Acheron (Mei) killed her Kevin, in GGZ Kiana killed Mei and destroyed the world and so on. I would explain it as well as the connetions with the songs in their lyrics, but it's already a long comment.😅 Edit: 1:05:50 That IS Hoyoverse. And the little box COULD BE Luchoa. There's some issues with this explanation, starting from the ZZZ claim. So far, they aren't connected. Famitsu had an email interview with the producer and he said it's an original setting / worldview, divorced of other games (currently). Maybe this will change in the future if they come up with a way to cross ideas but so far they're treated as separate and ZZZ is an original IP. Imaginary space isn't a barrier between worlds. It's a medium in which worlds can exist. Worlds are merely special configurations in imaginary space. The default of the universe is an unlivable hazard for 99% of life. Same goes for Sea of Quanta. It's fine to treat Kiana a reincarnation of Kevin. PROMETHEUS was an information body that occasionally took on physical form through engineering and Bronya is her reincarnation regardless, because reincarnation is just a descriptive term for the cycles of samsara (samsara meaning world, so it's just recycling information across time). You could call it convergent evolution and it honestly wouldn't change much, thanks to the mechanics of the 50k cycle. Kevin even says in the trailer for version Kiana that they stand before the authority of Finality, the reincarnation of everything in the world.

Hoyo devs stated years ago, that every single game of them take place in the same universe, as part of the Imaginary Tree. ZZZ is like Tears of Themis, part of the Imaginary Tree and therefore connected to the universe, even if it's world not interact anyway to the other worlds. It's canon, that's why miHoYo choose the name "HOYOVERSE" which refered to the connection of all of their games as the global company name. About Imaginary space you basicly tell the same thing what I said simplifed to easier to understand form. Reincarnation is unfit, as that claim the same mind in different body, but Kevin and Kiana are 2 different mind, who exist at once, so Kiana can't be Kevin's reincarnation, and it's true to the others. Samsara doesn't mean world, it mean a cycle. "wandering" "cyclic change" "running around in circles.", and these are the aspects used in the games, not world or rebirth. Instead "cycle of aimless drifting, wandering or mundane existence" And what Kevin say is pointless, unless you refer to the Original Chinese lines, as English translation almost always mis-translate everything, like bubble worlds into bubble universe which is not correct.

Again, time is reset and only the same starting conditions are allowed, this leading to "karma" developing the same individuals (I'm running with the religious leitmotifs here, rather than using a strictly mechanical definition from the game). Time is not sequential here; it is destroyed and started anew. By your logic, Yae Sakura is not a reincarnation of SAKURA since SAKURA technically never existed in the first place (she existed in a spacetime continuum that was completely negated from its premises). What matters is not the soul, but the karma leading up to the same paths. You're not even considering the possibility of a "holographic" soul, in which Kiana and Kevin are simultaneous projections in the world of the same fundamental information. The reason it's important to distinguish imaginary space and the Sea of Quanta as mediums in which worlds exist is that there is a separate explanation for why you cannot cross most of the time; imaginary tidal zones. One is a description of space (imaginary space) and the other of enormous energy aggregates (imaginary internal energy flowing). They're not the same thing. For example, if imaginary space is an impedance source, it makes no sense Valkyries draw on imaginary space for power (especially with an efficiency exceeding mecha, who merely draw on Honkai energy; no imaginary space medium involved) and Elysian Realm would not exist (it's imaginary space too). The statement is include EVERY SINGLE HOYO GAME. And all he say in that interview is about the game story, not about the cosmology. In that aspect, it's true to Genshin too, that it's a "independent worldview" while it's still part of the Imaginary Tree and Hoyoverse. Here only you not understand the worldbuilding of Hoyoverse, and base it on a japanese interview, which say clearly that he NOT TALK ABOUT THE GREATER WORLDBUILDING ONLY THE GAMES MAIN STORY. For example, the claim that the Honkai Universe includes all IPs is currently incorrect. This is based on the 7.3 dev livestream Q&A. The lead writer (Fanchuan) answered that the HI3rd team and HSR team collaborated for a shared setting, the so-called Honkai Universe. Note that ZZZ is not included and our only current source (the Famitsu email interview) states that the core team was 10 young folks unrelated to other works and worldviews before being expanded to a team of 300 by CBT2. So until they collaborate, ZZZ is simply not included in the Honkai Universe. Because it wasn't designed to fit there. The interview went on to elaborate on this further, I just quoted the most pertinent part for clarity. In fact the idea of a shared Honkai Universe exists under the same producer (Cai Haoyu, confirmed by him in 2021 Games Developer Conference). Li Zhenyu isn't Haoyu for obvious reasons and was tasked with making a different IP. I'm not saying it will never have connections with the Honkai Universe. I'm saying it's ambiguous even on their end as of the most recent confirmation (that I can find anyway, I'm open to seeing a more recent statement on the topic by Li). Maybe it'll turn out they share the same setting. Maybe it'll turn out it's in a completely different universe (as presented by Pela's VA in Multiverse Vistas first trailer, there is a theory other universes exist beyond the Tree of Existence / Imaginary Numbers and GGZ played around with that idea in Thanatos Kizuna and Yui's notes, plus the Ruler / Commander of Wills invading from another universe). Until they connect their settings, they are not connected. Even the worldbuilding of Honkai Universe doesn't change that because it explicitly allows for other universes. This is not that difficult to grasp. Confirmation on your part from an old statement is fundamentally misinformation because it misrepresents what Cai said. He was only talking on his own behalf (and that of the Genshin team), not a company-wide statement for future IPs.

The amount of misinformation in chat is... jeez. Most are honest misunderstandings, but some just seem like deliberate twisting of facts. To start, Otto did not love Kallen romantically. There was a time in the past he could have, but his feelings for Kallen were of admiration and idolization. They were the closest of friends. He saw her as the perfect person, a true hero, and proof that the world was beautiful, so when she was executed for doing the right thing, he lost faith in humanity and believed existence had lost its meaning. His goal became to revive her, because regardless of whether the Honkai won or not, he believed that the world could only be "right" if Kallen lived. I hate when people reduce all of that character complexity to just "simping for a lesbian". The man is absolutely a monster, but people could at least label him that based on things he actually did. Dude tried to nuke New York just so people wouldn't find out he's an asshole. There's no need to make things up to make him look bad. Also, Kallen was not gay. She was bi. While she was romantically involved with Yae Sakura during her time in Asia, she very clearly stated in the manga that she would have been willing to marry Otto under normal circumstances, but refused to do it to escape what she believed was her fate. She wouldn't become his wife just so she'd avoid her execution. She did the right thing by helping others, and whatever happened to her because of it, she'd live with and die for.

Otto literally says that he loves Kallen multiple times throughout the story. Like, not implies or hints, he says it EXPLICITLY. He does also worship her as a hero and feels guilt for her death, all of these are parts of his motivation, they're not mutually exclusive. Him and Kallen were also canonically engaged prior the Black Plague breaking out, so saying "they were just friends" would be just as incorrect. They were engaged, which implies Kallen was in love with him until a certain point, after which they gradually grew distant and the rest of the story happened. They literally spell all of this out in chapter 27 and 28. Agreed with the rest though

@@illum6 I seriously love to see someone that actually understood that Kallen was in love with Otto in some way, at some point in time. Even more, it is pretty damn obvious that she deeply loved Otto. She felt absolutely betrayed when she found out that Otto was participating in the kidnapping of the citizens when the Dark Plague hit. She felt so betrayed, and her heart was so broken, that she left Europe and traveled all the way to Asia, where she met and fell in love with Sakura. If that didn't happen, they would've ended together. Otto loved Kallen and she loved him, they were, at some point, kindred souls that grew together and knew each other.

i always hoped that ill gonna see honkai impact 3rd anime but they just gave us short cooking anime. at least mihoyo doing genshin anime, altough i feel like genshin's story less depressing yet it will be fine to see. my reason to start playing genshin was these cinematics also i truly trust on mihoyo + ufotable to show us a great quality on the anime coming soon.
