This is so ethereal, heart-breaking, and tender. Unexpected sound, too. Shades of Simon & Garfunkel and Irish folk music. I couldn’t understand every word but the feeling tone came through to pierce the heart. Such incredible beauty from this one man.

Exactly this. I heard these strains of Simon/Garfunkel and the Irish folk references there that night as well in that tiny dark living room-sized space. Big fan of this ethereal gentle soundscape he's been instilling into the songs. "If you fall / I can only pray / don't fall away from me" A twist of the knife straight into the heart, with all the sweetness held by the deeply precious and most meaningful things in life. The cost of living and loving deeply are the losses of it, but does it ever make for the sweetest poetry all the same.

If my suspicions are correct and you think alluding to Icarus is what’s generic, I invite you to find so much as a single piece of media that offers up this depiction of the myth. If you think the song is lyrically or sonically generic, well there’s just no helping you I’m afraid.
